A classic french brasserie serving all the classics. I got a steak au frites made to perfection. Steak was perfectly grilled and deliciously tender. The trimmings were excellent as well. Peeking at my fellow diners I got the impression that they do the other classics just as well. Definitely recommended.

I have had the pleasure of eating at this nice restaurant on several occasions and every time I feel very pleased! Usually, I have had dinner there, but this time I wanted to try out their lunch menu Since the weather was nice I had my meal on the outside, enjoying the quiet street and atmosphere. The service was very... More

This French Bistro is situated in the city center of Oslo. We had a lovely meal here. The dessert cart is really worth trying. I'll bring my girlfriends next time

I don't know what to write here. All I just want to say is that the foods were good but not what I expected it to be. I don't want to say that the service was good or bad because.. the people there weren't much friendly (I'm not expecting them to be) but if you are working, you might need... More

We had a nice outside table with good heating and dined very well indeed. The waiter was both charming and knowledgeable and had perfect English. He said the staff all had an annual, training holiday in France. French food in Oslo, well, why not?

If you want the fantastic "Plateau de fruits de mer"- a grand option for two, remember to order a day in advance. If not, the Bouillabaisse is a great and fresh alternative. Today's catch is normally great too. I suggest to leave some room for Le Chariot de desserts de la Brasserie, the restaurants dessert trolley for those with a... More

After 2 nights of 4 course seasonal menus along the waterfront, we were ready for a change. Brasserie France, near Karl Johann's Gate was our choice. Its decor is classic French brasserie: big mirrors, dark wood, street signs in French decorating the walls, and small tables along one wall. There are outdoor tables under an awning for good weather. The... More

This restaurant was a great find in Oslo. The food was delicious, especially the French Onion soup and the fish. The waiter/sommelier was very courteous and was a pleasure to chat with throughout our dinner. We'll surely be coming back!

Every time I am in Oslo for work I visit this place. I have been for both lunch and dinner. My favorite is the goat cheese salad and mussels with fries. The all you can eat dessert tray at dinner is awesome. At lunch they have a good croque madame. Have also had the fish special at dinner and enjoyed... More

No doubt, Brasserie France is my favourite restaurant in the city. The food is delicious, but their onion soup is fantastic. It tastes like it shoud taste (from my experince) and served in a proper way, with breadand cheese. The staff are nice and helpful. The atmosphere of the restaurant is special; it is a classy old-school restaurant with small... More
