Excellent service, the waiters were very knowledgeable and accommodating. Food was very good, in ample servings. Beautifully presented without being pretentious. We were there in a quiet weekday, enjoying the day's set menu.

I love this restaurant. I've been her plenty of times and it is a reason I keep coming back. The atmosphere is mystical, comfertable and romantic. You dine in a dungeon-ish cellar with candlelights and munks chanting (not real munks, it's a recording), with winebottles...More

We had my birthday dinner here a couple of days ago and enjoyed the 3-course set menu, the cheese platter from the à la carte menu, and an adapted wine menu. We had the most amazing time, especially the wines and cheeses were excellent. Overall...More

We chose this restaurant based on tripadvisor reviews and my opinion is consistent with what has been reported many times: a very special place, in a sort of a cave. Therefore pretty dark but very well decorated. Candles and the chic table-setting make it a...More

Klosteret Restaurant is located not far from The city centre. The restaurant is based in a cellar, and it's cosy but not over the edge. Nice for a group of 20 people to eat. All get warm food served at the same time. The plates...More

Upon arrival I was really surprised how quiet the place was. The atmosphere were super romantic, and the service was exceptional! I was really impressed by how well the wines got presented. Very good food. Recommended.

As the others say, I'd say that if your children are a bit older and over the age where they like to play around then it would be fine to take them there. However, it's not what I'd call a family restaurant and I think that... More
Blir ikke særlig romantisk stemning for to i slike omgivelser. Ledelsen på Klosteret bør vite dette og innordne egne rom, avlukker for slike selskap. Så man ikke ødelegger kvelden for folk som nettopp går dit av helt andre grunner enn å høre på drita fulle festemte mennesker

Klosteret is situated in central Oslo - Hammersborg, beside the Deichmanske Main Library. The menu has a wonderful combination of continental and French dishes and the wine list is impressively diverse. The name Klosteret translates as The Monastery and there is a touch of the divine in the old brick arches lit by hundreds of candles and wonderfully calm atmosphere. A unique setting for a meal with colleagues, a romantic evening out or for guests from abroad - an unforgettable experience. The restaurant also has a Chambre Separée for private parties.
