This is like going back in time to a wonderful era. Taking the boat from Aker brygge is a part of this trip that I really love. Went here for swimmning and food, and neither disappointed :)

Stopped in here for a couple of beers whilst island hopping on Oslofjord. What a lovely location- peace, quiet, views and good service. Definitely worth a visit!

Very nice place for drinks. Food meny only have 2 real offers; shrimps or tapas. Very small portions that are too expensive. Not a place for dinner.

We ordered prawns and it took more than an hour to get, in spite of few people. No light Beer from Norway. We were dissapointed.

Expensive ordinary beer and mediocre food . And I have reasons to say it is an unfriendly place. In the city there are countless infinitely better options.

I had an amazing day island hopping in the fjord! I’d heard about the cafe at Gresshelmen from a server at Mathallen and had to check it out. Clouds were threatening when the ferry dropped me off. The short hike through the forest up to the cafe was such fun with super views. Although I arrived at noon for lunch, the kitchen doesn’t open until 1400. Luckily for sandwiches in the case were perfect. Enjoyed chatting with the American owner as I was the only customer at the time. She and her partner own multiple restaurants in central Oslo - be sure to try them all!

This is more a cafe than a restaurant. Prices are very reasonable for Norway, and it is a cool place to visit if you want a taste of nature a 10 min. boat ride from downtown Oslo. You can sit indoors or outdoors and eat, or just have a drink. The atmosphere is very relaxed and informal. They have ice cream, snacks and sandwiches, shrimp etc. In the afternoon they also offer hot meals; A sea food, poultry, meat or vegetarian dish. The menu changes, so check their website. We had octopus, which was tender and yummy. I can recommend lunch or dinner here after a day at one of the many beaches and coves on the island.

This restaurant is located on a tiny island 15 minutes boat ride from Oslo waterfront. We arrived on a sunny evening and sat outside. Unfortunately, a pipe had broken and they were unable to wash up so the only main available was shrimps. These were very nice. The menu is very small and we would have liked to have tried some of the other things. The chocolate cake was nice. You order from the bar and collect the food when it is ready. It was a Saturday night and very busy. Prices were pretty reasonable for Norway. I would go back and try some other dishes.

After our Free Walking Tour we hopped on public ferry B4 to Gressholmen which is small island in the fjord it takes about 10 mins. The walk to the Kro (pub) takes a few minutes through the woods. It’s a charming building with inside and outside seating. To your right as you walk in there’s a self service cabinet with a choice of 3 baguettes and 1 dessert. You order drinks at counter and pay. There’s also a more comprehensive menu of cooked meals including fish, duck and desserts. This place is a terrific interlude from the city The food is fresh & delicious. The service friendly & efficient

Visiting summerOslo you have to take the public ferry to the islands. Go ashore at Gressholmen take a walk or/and a bath and then visit the "new" Gressholmen Kro for a meal and something to drink. Offers a small selection on the menu. But you will sure find something you¨ll like. I would recomend some seafood fresh from the clean Oslofjord.

On the Gressholme island which is a short 10 min ferry ride from Oslo. Very relaxed atmosphere and very popular with locals. Menu only offers a small selection but the food was amazing. Very simple but wonderfully cooked. I had the mussels which were very good. Ferry runs until late so very easy to get back to oslo after dinner and drinks. If weather allows I recommend sitting outside, lovely location in the woods.

We stopped at Gressholmen for a quick lunch. We took the salmon and the chicken breast. Very nice meal for a small restaurant on a tiny island. Food was fresh and tasty.

Really worth visiting, only 10 minutes from Aker Brygge. Take the boat from the harbour bus terminal, fare is 35 NOK each way.

We took the ferry over on recommendation from a Norwegian friend. The trip itself is nice (and free with the Oslo pass) and the wooded walk to the restaurant a pleasant respite from the city. You order at the counter, menu is limited, bathroom is a latrine a small walk away. Food was amazing! We both had salmon. Perfectly cooked and beautifully presented like something from a Michelin restaurant. Seemed it was all Norwegians there. You can also go to the beach if the weather is nice.
