This was a pleasant surprise. A Spanish tapas restaurant in the middle of Oslo? Sounds too good to be true - but it lived up to all expectations and then some. Located right across from the reception at Radisson Blu Scandinavia, once Norway's leading hotel, La Sangria is probably part of the reason why this hotel cannot field a decent restaurant. Whatever they try, better eating at half the price is available right across the street.

La Sangria is a special place. It is a family run Spanish restaurant with a very welcoming ambiance. My son found it after watching a review on Tik Tok. We were staying at an air bnb nearby and called to see if they could accommodate our party of five at the last minute. Our group consisted of my husband and me, our son (age 20) and daughter (age 18) plus my mom (age 81). At the owner’s recommendation we ordered the Tapas tasting menu for 4 people. Everything was delicious and coursed out well. We especially loved the meatballs, Jamon Iberico, Spanish Tortilla, and Paellita. The owner and his son were warm and friendly. We all loved this restaurant. It was the best meal on our trip to Oslo.

We stayed at a hotel in the vicintity of the restauarant, and due to a rather cold night, we went for a meal at La Sangria, and it did more than comply with our expectations. The chef and his camarera did their best to supply us with what we wanted. And having lived in Spain, we absolutely wanted something that could remind us of a warmer place this cold November night.
With a typical Spanish main course, we had more to go, with sufficient supply of machego cheese and wine, and enjoyable chat bringing us back to Placa de Espana in under different skies. So we are going back!

Good: service and welcome.
Bad: Tricky and unclear prices for the Paella which had bad taste. The quality of the food is around 2-3 stars. The chicken tapas are just wings, which is not clear in the menu. Dinner for two people landed at about 130 dollars without alcohol.

Amazing food, drinks and staff – at the most authentic spanish experience in Oslo.
We've been going to La Sangria for both special occations and tapas cravings for years now. The staff is always super welcoming, the food is always top notch and when you order the sangria by the jug, you'll see why they had the confidence to call themselves "La Sangria".
They know their wines aswell, so be sure to take any reccomendation into consideration.
We like to mix things up, but if we're not in the mood for anything specific, we'll order the chefs menu (which contains the only bacalao I've ever tried and liked).
The atmosphere is also worth mentioning as it really does feel like you're in a charming, cozy and down to earth spanish restaurant.
If you're in Oslo and up for some spanish, come here.

I cannot understand that these are Oslo's top three tapas restaurants. Disappointing dining experience and overpriced food from FirstPrice. Had expected home-made Spanish food and good service when they have indeed been in the restaurant business for over 30 years. Was served pre-bought rolls, potato boats from the freezer counter and tasteless chicken. When we spoke about the food, we experienced that the waiter became aggressive and shouted back.

Visited Later Sangria with my son while on a weekend break. It was just like being in a bodega in Madrid , lots of memorabilia on the walls. The food was extremely good and reasonably priced. My son especially enjoyed the tortilla . The mussels were lovely and fresh. The owner was super friendly. He was born in South London as was I and we both lived in Mostoles Madrid. It was nice to talk about Madrid. We will definitely return on our next visit. It is advisable to book on a weekend.

We had a late dinner of sangria (of course) and tapas here. Three of the people in our group have lived in Madrid and found the meal to be exceptional and authentic! The owner(?) was very kind and made nice conversation with us.

I was here with my good friends Ruth and Turid. This was a disappointing experience. The bread was from frist price, the chicken was tasteless and the potatoes from the freezer counter at the store. The price was also stiff. When we told about our experience, we also got a shout from the waiter. Probably won't come back.

The children when they saw the Spanish restaurant wanted to go in to eat. It wasn't much fun to me because of the possible disappointment we might have, and it was.
It is true that the owner was very friendly and treated us well, but the food was quite bad; small portions, reheated dishes and little resemblance to the Spanish flavors we are used to. Neither the tortilla nor the garlic chicken, nor the bravas were rich (for our taste). The sangria we ordered was rich and fresh, it tasted a little different but we ended it!!
Of course, the tavern is well set, you could pass perfectly by a traditional tavern in Madrid.

Very nice and authentic place! The room has decor that makes you feel like you are in Spain, not Oslo. Nice with Spanish background music. Friendly waiters who provided information about the place and the history behind the dishes. Lovely tapas! Food must be made with love, and they have done it here! First time we have eaten tapas and you feel like it is homemade. Best tapas we've eaten! Highly recommended!

When you step inside you feel like you are in Spain. A cozy authentic Spanish restaurant where the service is friendly and helpful. The food exceeds everything and there is plenty of choice. The tapas are of sufficient size and were served hot.

The staff is very nice. The restaurant is small but cozy. We had a 'menu' for 4 people. Very tasty but the portions could have been a little bigger - so everyone only had 1-2 'bites'. We had to ask for bread separately, but it came straight away. The food was of good quality.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance on a rainy evening. The place has a rustic, relaxed atmosphere. It is managed by the Spanish owner and his Swedish wife with great passion and professionalism. The seafood Paella is very good. The best I've ever tasted (including Spain). 10 and praise . Compliments . 10 and praise
