Top spot for coffee and lunch. Prices ok and menu (incl plenty of organic choices) varied. Indoor or outdoor spots available. Staff very energetic and helpful. Shop attached has a most interesting range of 'peace-themed' and eco-friendly books and items. Complements the Peace Centre really well. Easy to access right at the entrance to harbour, short walk from Nationaltheater station

Was very pleasantly surprised by this cafe: given its location and status as attached to the Nobel Peace Center, it could've been REALLY expensive, but I found it very good value for Oslo. The open sandwich I had involved homemade seaweed cheese, which was really tasty! Nice big cup of proper peppermint tea. Looked lovely inside, but it was gloriously... More

I have been here several times. First just decided to try out and after were bringing friends and family. Every time it was great experience. WE were always sitting outside having a great view on Oslo fjord and enjoying our food, the heating and blankets were always at our service. The food is extra delicious, the portions on a big... Such a relaxing and informal coffee shop located next to the nobel peace center and overlooking the magnificent fortress and city hall. What attracted us to this place is the green color cushions and benches (the entire interior design features various shades of this color). Later we found out that the idea behind this is to represent peace in the... More

When my friend and I entered the Cafe, there was no sign of a staff member. When she did appear, the cappuccino I'd order, and she'd prepared, was barely drinkable - too strong, insufficient creamy froth, etc.

This cafe is in the Nobel Peace Centre but you don't have to go in to the Peace Centre to use the cafe. It is right on Aker Brygge so by the ferries and teams and buses. The soup was excellent. The service very friendly and helpful. Nice contemporary decor. Papers to read. Will visit next time in Oslo.

So while touring the peace Museum I saw a poster describing its Jerusalem artichoke salad and I had to go. This cafe is inside the Nobel peace centre and its green with cool music. This a very relaxing place. There is simple food like pea soup, salads and sandwiches. There are also pastries and a relaxing place to relax after... More

What a wonderful cafe! I had lunch here and sat outside, which offered a great view of Aker Brygge. I had an absolutely beautiful and tasty salad - much more elegant and delicious than I was expecting from what looked like a very informal cafe. A great option in this area, especially on a warm, sunny day!

After visiting the Peace Center, we had a drink on the terrace of Alfred's and, tempted by the dishes passion by our eyes, decided to stay for lunch on that beautiful sunny day. We had an excellent meal in a delightful, friendly, relaxed environment. A great place, and very friendly service.

Alfred is a cafe with local, sustainably produced and seasonal food. We welcome the Nobel Peace Center visitors, passers-by, tourists and neighbors alike to an informal and relaxed atmosphere inside and in our outdoor patio. Our Finnish Head Chef Joni Leskinen has composed a menu combining craftsmanship and carefully selected local produce. Swedish Mattias Åstrand is our new chef in Alfred. He shares Joni’s love of the season based Nordic kitchen, and with an extra thought to both produce and guests, the dishes they create are both surprising and tasty.
