I took my two friends here for probably the 10th time last week, only to realize I haven’t written a review for this place yet. SFBB is my favorite place to grab lunch, or even dinner if I’m down for some comfort food. Their baby bowls are super cheap and makes it possible to buy two diff flavours, which is perfect if you can’t make up your mind. I’ve never been a huge fan of Mac ‘n Cheese, but their Truffle Mac is everything!! The staff is always super nice and friendly, and so are the owners. I’ll probably never shut up about it when recommending places to eat to my family and friends! (Last time I was there I asked for coriander topping for my Mac ‘n Cheese and got LOAAADS since I told them I love coriander so much. They also gave me a free coriander dipping sauce which was super lovely with the bread!

Good good, great service and a cool concept. It was our first time trying out a San Francisco bowl and we will definitely come back. We hade the Oslo bowl and Baja Chili bowl which had a Great taste and I am looking forward to trying the other ones next time. The people working there made our experience there better by smiling and providing us with different types of extra sauces for us to taste and cookies after dinner without any extra charge. We did not try the cocktails, but looking at the menu it dermed like they also would have givek Great taste to a good meal. Something for everyone and absolutelly worth a visit!

We visited the Bread Bowl for a birthday dinner and the quality of food, atmosphere and attention to detail were spot on. The food was incredible, fantastic depth of flavour and such a simple way to serve great food. Would highly recommend... in fact, would insist that it's worth a visit.

We went to try something new in taste and its totally worth it. We ordered vegan and vegetarian bowls, all taste delicious, worth going anytime. Indonesian bowl is the best for vegetarians.

We ordered the scallops seafood creamy dish, the chili and the mini Mac and Cheese - and they were beyond! It was so delicious! The bread was crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside (perfect for dipping and soaking it in my creamy dish!) and buttered with garlic butter! It was fantastic, definitely a must try! We had a 15 month old with us who just loved the bread and also the Mac and cheese. They have high chairs as well and is a kid friendly restaurant. The pictures definitely speak for themselves 🤩

Its a somewhat cool rather small cafe like shophouse in a very pretentious area of the old posher region on Oslo. Staff does not speak norwegian. They offer a wide array of craft beers and this bread bowl thing with a variety of fillings. Its all quite nice, however not very good value. Taste is ok, but not exceptional in any way.

The most amazing spot in Oslo! The filling in the bread is amazing but the bread itself (especially the bread dipped in garlic butter) is to die for. I was just there a few hours ago and I am already planning my next visit... This time I ordered two baby bowls: one with mac and cheese and one with a lentil curry. Both were amazing! Even though the food is great, what makes this place stand out is the staff. I felt so welcomed from the moment I came in, and they were very helpful and just overall nice people. I also love how you can choose between a normal bowl or a baby bowl. That way you can taste several things on the menu (it´s hard to choose just one). Anyway, long sort short: I truly recommend this place!

We ordered different bowls and were quite happy with the food, only that one part of the piece which is cut out was still cold and frozen. We were shocked about the price in the end, as every little thing on the menu costs extra. We didn’t realised it at first which was our mistake. It’s the first time ever when we’ve dined out and paid before finishing our meal that our plates got collected straight after the payment was done. This was kinda weird as two of us were still eating. We weren’t even asked if the plates could’ve been taken… Not good.

Celebrated a good friend’s birthday dinner here with 11 people. The servers were really nice, and they were able to bring out the food quickly after ordering. We tested out every bowl on the menu except the Mac and cheese, and were all happy with our dishes! For some, the Indonesian soup was too spicy, but an extra of sour cream came to the rescue. I had two baby bowls of Bombay and Baja chili with sour cream and garlic butter, and will definitely be ordering the same order for next time! I would recommend ordering two baby bowls instead of one regular, this way you can test out two flavors and the portion-size is better. To conclude, SF bread bowl has a chill vibe, overall very fun and pleasant visit😊

I am not sure what was wrong in this restaurant this evening, but nothing really worked out. Everyone on staff was English speaking, which normally isn't a problem, but communication was difficult. We had to repeat like 5 times that we had a table booked. They had not made a table ready (large group), so they did that one the spot. When we sat down, we never got menus and had to ask for them. Ordering drinks went OK and we told them (there were 3 different staff that came to our table at different times) that we were waiting on one more person. After that person arrived, they never came to our table, in the end one of us had to go tell them we were ready to order. This is not a huge restaurant, so we were surprised at the lack of attentiveness. One of us did not get what they ordered (wrong bowl size), they did apologize and sorted it by giving that meal for the prize of the baby bowl ordered. The staff were very rarely at our table and even when everyone had stopped eating, they never came to clean the table. When we got the attention of staff and told them we were done eating, we got asked what they could do for us. We literally had to tell them to take the food away. After that they never came back to our table, so when we wanted to pay we had to go looking for staff, as none of them were at the counter. Seemed like everyone was in the kitchen or someplace else in the back of the restaurant. The food was good and one of the staff explained how it worked with choosing. But the lack of attention and having to go hunt them down, was not a great experience and it seems they didn't have any kind of routines. Hence 2 stars from me, and I doubt I will ever go back.

Dropped in for a meal. This is not my first visit, but as my expectations have been more than satisfied earlier, I wanted to visit again. Got a nice table, decided to go for the chilli filling, and also additional cheese sauce to take the spice level a little down. Perfect! Had a small variety of their interesting beer too, as picture is showing. This will not be my last visit! Go there and try it out too! You will love it!

This place would be great at any time, but if you’ve spent a day walking around Oslo in December in freezing temperatures, this is absolutely the perfect place to wind down and get a well deserved carb hit. Lovely staff, amazing comfort food… just perfect. Loved it.

Really enjoyed the place, very friendly and Cousy at the same time. Everyone who works there, are always with a smile on their face and willing to do anything needed. Excellent service. The food is simply amazing, portions are big, so if you're hungry, don't worry. Oh, and don't forget the garlic butter, trust me.

I recently spent the day in Oslo as I was travelling to Tromso for a week. I saw San Francisco Bread Bowl online and thought it would be a perfect place to eat on a cold February night. I could not be happier with the choice. What a great concept...soup in bread bowls for a chilly winter night, and amazing local beers. The staff was simply amazing. They were so friendly, happy to help, and happy to get to know you as a guest. Their advice was perfect, as well as their menu options. What to choose when there are so many great options? Leave it to them...their recommendation, get both. There are two sizes...big and small. Rather than get the big size and limit yourself, get the small and pick more than one. This way you get to experience everything and leave satisfied. It was a perfect restaurant.
