Granted, the place is closed during the winter. We stopped by on a bright summer day and, as always, enjoyed a waffle and coffee from their cafeteria style cabin-cum-cafe. Outside seating, of course, and conveniently located for our visit to the rest of the Bygdøy peninsula.

First of all I would call it a cafe, not a restaurant. The location is beautiful, albeit not the food - it's mediocre. The prices are too high.

Rodeløkken Kafe has a very nice location, and surely it looks idyllic enough when you arrive. But looks can decieve. This is a proper tourist trap with high-priced and very average open sandwiches and cakes. Its also a trip back to the seventies, and absolutely not in a positive way when it comes to the "menu". Its really a big... More

Located on Bygdøy, with nice views over Bestumkilen. This cafe has plenty of outside seating and limited inside. Small selection of typical Norwegian open sandwiches.Prices high for what you get. They seem to be licensed to sell more than beer! You need walking shoes to reach the place or be lazy and drive up. Used to be frequented by lots... More

This is not a restaurant. A Cafe. Food and beverages is just average and a bit sad. The location is just perfect and enjoyable, and it is just sad that the Cafe is not making more out of this spectacular location. Nonetheless, definitely worth a visit and hopefully the Cafe will recognise it's position, and combine this beatiful place with... More

I have difficulty in believing that this is a coinsident. My advice is to everybody paying with cash,,,check the change you recieve back. Otherwise a pleasent place but the feeling that... More

Rodeløkken Kafe is in the same area as the Vikings Ship Museum and the Norwegian Folk Museum at the upperclass peninsula Bygdøy, and is a very good alternative to cafes in connection with the museums. Good selection of homemade cakes at reasonable prices, and in the warm season most of the tables are placed outside at several plateaus in a... More
