Good to very good food. We had a six course menu. Composition and sauces refined, quality of the fish excellent. However the winepairing was , even in Norway, over the top expensive. In Norway wines , when served by the glass, are 15 ml . These glasses were definitely less. We didn't want 6 glasses to accompany our meal and beforehand we were assured that we could skip one glass or even take a half one. The wine pairing menu was 945 NOK for 6 glasses and when the bill arrived we had a deduction of only 45 NOK for skipping the last wine. When asked for this very small deduction ( average price per glass 160 NOK) we were told that the dessert wine was the cheapest one. That might be, but their cheapest wine per glass is 150 NOK So we left with a good feeling about the food but the overall experience was bitter. We felt like being a tourist milkcow in a commercial atmosphere.

Absolutely top class, great service, very nice ambience! A must in Tromsoe! Located directly on the harbour... modern, stylish but still cozy atmosphere, very friendly welcome from the young team. We had the 6 course menu and got more than full (even without the delicious cheese plate). You wine list is well assorted... the prices (in Norway alcohol costs a lot! ) pleasant (bottle of good Chardonnay 130 euros equivalent... common in upscale restaurants). For comparison: Baileys 2 cl in other restaurant in Oslo : 20 euros converted!!! Piccolo Freixenet in the self-service restaurant 15,00 Euro converted. There was great bread with homemade salt butter, a crispy chip with mussel cream as a greeting from the kitchen and then 5 wonderful fish/ mussel courses and 1 dessert (nut butter ice cream with strawberries). From howling hip to small swanfish to clipfish (refined: dried clipfish was grated like Parmesan over the juicy fish in poultry jus). All ingredients super fresh, fish on point, vegetables with optimal bite... A great, delicious evening. The young, relaxed staff works professionally and also speaks English. With around 300 euros ( 130 euros for the wine) this was more than cheap! The starter alone contained an estimated 100 g of halibut. We will definitely come back!

We had lunch and multiple dinners at Fiskekompaniet. The restaurant had great modern decor. All the staff were extremely pleasant and nice with superb service. The seafood was awesome and super fresh. The host recommended some dishes and we were extremely satisfied. We tried the king crab, shrimp, 4-course, 6-course set meals, dessert and they were super delicious. The ingredients were so fresh that we could taste the ocean. The dining area was roomy and comfortable despite big dinner groups. We enjoyed the 4-course and 6-course meals for we could try different local cuisine and fish. The atmosphere was romantic and warm. The tables by the windows had a great view of the boats and ocean. We had a superb dining experience. We highly recommend Fiskekompaniet for your fine dining experience!

We arrived late in Tromsø and expecting a hectic next day found this restaurant with excellent reviews for a good fish meal. Kamchatca crab is one of the safest choices tere is - expensive but wonderful - succulent and easy to access with a soft shell that can be opened with a scissors and not a hammer. We were probably unlucky according to all the good reviews of the restautrant. But! They had managed to destroy this delicacy. It was like salty rubber - totally inedible. The worst thing was that the staff left us carrying our plates and came back informing us that the food was ok according to the kitchen. We left, very dissapointed and still hungry, we found a gas atation who produced 2 hot dogs of much higher quality and finally retreated to our hotel.

Flaut on behalf of Norwegian tourism and seafood that we are so proud of... Rockefeller oysters have absolutely no affiliation in real life - ask the chefs google... The king crab is ice cold, melon and falls apart. Waiter says those who have fished this have overcooked the item!!! The chefs who sent this out to their customers are knowledge-poor!

We went to Fiskekompaniet for the 6 course dinner with the wine accompanied; absolutely great food food served at a relaxed pace, with excellent service form our Argentinian waiter (Matthew?) who knew and understood the different wines he was serving. The flavors were rich, but light and thought through. Would absolutely love to go back here one day!!!

Dropped in for lunch and wanted to book a table for the evening at the same time. It was unfortunately full for the evening, but it was possible to sit in the food bar where they could also reserve a seat. For lunch there were Oysters, they have a good selection, and then Skrei with scallop sauce and root vegetables. All very good. A bit limited with wine by the glass, but since I was going back in the evening it was quite possible to buy a bottle and save the rest for dinner. it ended with Mersault 1er Cru. The owner must have been in a very good mood, he knocked off several hundred notes and came back with Les Perriéres 2018. Went for the 6-course tasting menu for dinner. This was a highlight, smoked redfish, fish soup, scallops, crayfish, skrei and dessert. I would think that this is better "value for money" than the shellfish plateau. For me, this was a particularly good experience.

We tried the 6-course menu with the wine package and it was worth every øre. All the wines matched the food perfectly, and the waiter tood the story of each wine. Exquisite small dishes amounted to a great harmonious feast. Very good and snooth service. Great location with a good view of the harbor.

I always find it difficult to give 5 points, but in this beautiful restaurant by the water, everything is just right except for 2 really minor things. On my last evening in Norway, I wanted something special, so 2 holiday acquaintances and I sat down here. Very well-kept ambience and calm atmosphere. The sous chef explained to us in detail what to expect from the various items on the menu. You could choose between set menu and a la carte. I opted for the Rossini sturgeon caviar. It was served ice cold with waffles and sour cream and was very delicious. The main course was haddock in halibut sauce and pureed vegetables. Perfectly presented, the fish was cooked to perfection and formed a perfect symbiosis with vegetables and sauce. The dessert, a composition of local berries with white chocolate, left nothing to be desired. There was a detailed explanation of each course that was served. In this respect, the restaurant deserves a top spot among the restaurants that I have rated so far. As mentioned above, I found 2 things not quite OK. 1. Guests who chose the menu were given better seats with a view of the water. This gives the impression that guests who chose the menu preferred guests who "only" eat a la carte. 2. While my friend and I were still having the starter, a third person at the table was already getting the main course. Logistically speaking, not quite perfect. But that doesn't detract from the great enjoyment we had that evening. So, a clear must-go if you are in Tromsø.

The food was of a high quality and the restaurant had a nice ambience, with a great view of the harbour. However, we felt the service wasn’t quite up to standard and it was the clear the restaurant was short staffed - it took a while to bring out our food and drinks. The menu was also very limiting - you could only really choose the set menu.

A restaurant of a very high standard both for the meal and for the service. We chose the 4-course menu which took us from surprise to surprise thanks to the subtle combinations of flavors from the halibut to the caviar to the grilled turbot cooked wonderfully. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Tromso and it contradicts all the prejudices about the advertised prices which are surely 50% below the prices in France for an equivalent menu.

After a long day of traveling, my group of 5 decided on dinner at Fiskekompaniet. We got there shortly after they opened and opted to sit in the bar area, they were very accommodating and rearranged a couple tables to fit our group. We ordered two of their seafood platters and many of their smaller tapas style dishes. Hands down, this was the best meal we had during our week long stay in Norway. The seafood was fresh and perfectly prepared. Our female server was polite and friendly but she did seem to be overwhelmed a bit with servicing the bar area on her own which definitely slowed down service and there was a bit of wait between drink refills/next courses. Overall I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a good seafood meal.

The elegant restaurant overlooking the port only has a tasting menu while the bar, inside, has an Ă  la carte menu. Tried the Ă  la carte menu and in particular the cod and shrimp caught in the fjord next door. All very good and fresh. The bill is a little above average compared to other restaurants.

Located in front of the port of Tromso, with very good views. We visited it because it is 100 meters from the hotel where we stayed, Clarion Aurora, and we liked it a lot. Excellent place with good atmosphere and lighting. They offer a step-by-step menu with two alternatives. We take the shortest one. We found the fish soup and skrei cod excellent. The dessert is also very delicious. An Argentinian girl attended to us, so there was no language problem, and constant attention to our needs. Place to recommend

This was our best meal during our stay in Tromso, and also the most expensive. The food was fresh and tasty. We started with a variety of three types of oysters from France and Canada - all were fresh. We also had a big platter of prawns, snow crabs and king crabs. The crabs were so good that we ordered another portion, including more oysters. This was followed by the fish soup that the eatery is famous for, which was full of seafood richness. Our mains of winter cod was delicious, and was a tad rich in taste. We were so full by then that we did not even consider dessert. Our male server (sorry we did not remember his name) appeared to be a little brusque at first but was actually quite a good entertainer and friendly.
