We came here after doing a snowshoe hike for some well-earned food. My wife and I shared the salmon toast and the salted lamb soup - both were delicious.
We had a good nose around the shop afterwards and found lots of interesting trinkets and items.
The spot on the fjord is very beautiful.

I took the bus to Ersfjordbotn from Tromsø senter, amazing views! But I didn’t check the timetable going back.. So I got stuck in the area for about 3 hours. Walked a lot and took nice photos. And luckily, there was Bryggejentene resto which serves warm beverages, soups, etc. They also sell knicks and knacks. I had warm hot cocoa, and went back again for some delicious carrot soup! It was very cozy. 🙂

Possibly one of the coziest cafes in the world, great place for a hot drink after visitting Ersfjordbotn and the area. Offers various options to eat and drink, and a great selection of homeware, gifts, decorations, etc. The village is about 30min away from Tromso by bus or car,but check opening hours before going.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t the amazing experience I had anticipated. Due to the weather all the outside seating with the wonderful view was closed.
Despite being a popular tourist destination this is a very Norwegian establishment. Everything is only written in Norwegian and each table has a QR code for ordering food, but the website/app it take you to t is entirely in Norwegian with no option for English.
We did manage to order some cake and coffee at the bar and took it upstairs and found one of the only empty tables to sit at, far away from the lonely window with the coveted view.
After sitting and eating our cake I noticed a small sign on the table again written in Norwegian. After entering the text into google translate it said “Work and Schoolwork you can’t do at this table”, how bizarre.
Both the cake and coffee were mediocre, I would not rush back.
Downstairs they have a very eclectic range of items for sale, dog bowls, string, cushions, cups etc.

We were unable to find any menus online, so we drove out from the city to check. Arriving at the cafe at 14:59 we found out that they actually had a selection of lunch dishes, but while we were ordering, it turned out that the kitchen closed at 15:00. That was not written anywhere either.
After 1500 there is only coffee and cakes. So we returned to the city for a real lunch.

There is no lie in saying that this place right here is the best café in "town" just a bit outside town. The food and drinks are all excellent and unique, the staff is kind and friendly, the view is to die for and the shop downstairs is filled with lots of cool things to buy. Just go there.

Great place and good food. We had decided for coffee after dinner. At 1530 the girls started cleaning tables and chair pads. Got a feeling that we should leave the place already half an hour before closing time. There was no coffee on us.

Great place for hot chocolate ! - we stopped here during our driving holiday around Tromso and enjoyed a meringue with hot chocolate - so nice ! The ambience is great and we enjoyed our time here.
The outer area was of course closed due to winter - but must be nice to sit out during summer months !

Do not miss this spot if you drive around Kvaløya. Cozy, fascinating. And if the weather is good it is far better than meditation to sit outside and relax with the marvellous view of the fiord. Highly recommendable after a hiking trip in the area, but check the opening hours.

This pace is a café and a boutique shop combined. It's vey cosy in there and you can overlook the fjord. The staff is very friendly, the coffee quite good and the carrot cake outstanding.
Imagine it's wintertime, you sitting there by the window, enjoying food or beverages - you never want to leave again..

I have visited this cafe numerous times over the last 5 years on trips to Tromsø.
The lunches and cakes are always lovely and the views of the fjords stunning regardless of the weather.

The food and coffee is poor. You can visit Ersfjorden and enjoy the view and cenery without a vist to Bryggejentene. You'll save money, and instead bring something of your own.
