Trouble with these places are that they seem to think that the view is enough. It isn’t - you also need good food and at least a hint of service.

Been a couple of months since i visited this nice place on the top of Scandic Havet. I liked the service. Had the dried cod, and it surprised me. Being a faroese, I am used to fermented (ræst) cod. This grilled filet was not too...dry, and had a sophisticated grilled flavor in good combination with the light fermented taste, just barely bordering to "ræst". I liked it..More

Unfortunately this was not a good experience. We tried the Turbot and the Grilled dry fish with the recommended white wine expecting a proper seafood evening in Bodø. The Turbot was served with skin and bones in a sort of tofu state. Hardly any destinguishable...taste after i was done picking out bones. And on top of this the grilled dry fish seamed like it was boiled and kept in brine untill we arrived. We both switched plates to check our sanity before emptying the wine and leaving about 25 min after arriving. Nice waiter and nice view, but i would stick to cocktails.More

Satisfied and impressed by Roast- the food, the service, and the view from the 17th floor! A perfect place to see the sunset, especially accompanied by the infamous "tørrfisk". Recommended!

Starter: Tasteless scallops with peas. The food was cold, tasted nothing, and the scallops were overcooked. Starter: Smoked duck. They could not have used a normal smoker of some sort, because the duck tasted gas (same smell as you find in a gas barbecue). It...was as tender as a shoe sole, and had an awful taste. Total rubbish. Main: The worst rib eye I’ve ever tasted. It was clear that they had cooked it, sliced it, anid found it «rear»; then cooked the steak some more in the oven. Totally free of any juices. The vegetable were raw. The potatoes were «reheated» in the oven. The bernaise were from a bottle... This was one of my worst food experiences ever, at any price level. This restaurant can’t have serious chefs. I don’t recommend going to this restaurant, even if it’s free.More

The drinks were not as they should, and we payed 540 NOK for four strawberry daiqiris, with poor quality. Not recomendable.

I ate here when the hotel first opened some years ago, and this experience was better. A very attentive and discreet waiter made the evening pleasant. The food was good, better than at some popular places in town such as Bjørk and the Thai restaurant....The deconstructed carrot cake was fun. The duck breast was served cold, slices, very rare, not what I expected (I thought it would be roasted) but it was good. A nice touch is that they have several items on the menu that are smaller portions. The turbot needed the skin removed, and since that was under the sauce it was a bit awkward. There were also bones in the fish that we either should have been warned about or which the chef should have managed to remove. The prices are normal for Norway, not incredibly expensive, but not cheap. It's a place to go for an occasion, as we did.More

Really like this hotel, but the food in this restaurant is overpriced for the quality you get. Will go out of the hotel for dinner the next time I stay in Bodø...

We chose to have dinner at Roast because of the promise of great views. A bit disappointing, then, that instead of views of the sea, the islands and the marina, the restaurant offers the town of Bodø - a collection of rooftops. The food was...good, with several local dishes, but the Goat's Cheese ice cream dessert was a disappointment. Our Portuguese waiter was friendly, professional and very attentive.More

Went on a monday evening. Chose it because of the view, and it was located in our hotell building. It didnt seem to busy, but it felt chaotic. We were handed menu’s without any remarks but when they came to take our order, 3 out...of 4 items was out of stock. When we got our food, it was very average. Nothing special at all. And for that price it does not seem worth it. We saw people sending back food, waving after waitresses, following them arround asking for service. All in all it felt very chaotic. Seems like they need more staff, and some work on the food. The place has a fantastic potential with that location.More

Came here with my husband and my family for dinner. Reserved a table like someone recommended me to. Came there and was shown to the table by nice staff. Beautiful view over the city. They don't have a lot on their menu, but they're excellent...at the food they have on the menu. Personally I ordered the ribeye steak. Delicious.More

The staff was helpful and polite. Food was good. The restaurant is on the 16th floor, and has a good view over the town center. I would not mind to go back, on a later occasion.
