About
Det hele startet da Johan Løvold åpnet Joh. Løvold på kaia i Bodø i 1938. Johan og kona Ågot innså snart at sultne mager gir dårlige kunder, og 30. august 1939 åpner Løvolds Kafeteria i etasjen over butikken. Kafeteriaen blir snart en fast møteplass for både de fastboende og de som kommer reisende sjøveien. Vertskapet høster mye anerkjennelse for sine retter av lam, laks, sei og torsk, samt bakevarer fra eget bakeri. I 1951 får kafeteriaen Bodøs aller første kakedisk.

This little restaurant was a suggestion from a relative who lives in Bodo. What a great find. It is a casual cafeteria-style atmosphere. The main dishes are not fancy but the desserts look amazing. Our group of 6 arrived at a busy time when the sandwich choices were limited but the staff readily made extra sandwiches for us. They were delicious. I wish I had had room for dessert! This restaurant is around the corner from the Tourist Information Centre and about a 10 minute walk from the Hurtigruten dock. I would return to this little gem without hesitation.

A nice cafeteria located in Bodø harbour at 1st. floor.
Serving typical Norwegian cousine, in big portions, for a resonable price.
The daily menue change a bit every day, keep an extra eye on the fish dishes.
Very good kitchen and serviceminded staff.
A very good place to dine.

Meal of the day is always a good choice. No fancy dishes just normal everyday Norwegian meals. Newcomer on the menu is the Friday Taco. Prices are affordable and the food is good.

2 omelets and 2 coffee cost is 406 NOK. I decided to try (maybe it will be some special), but it turned out to be the most common homemade omelet.

Good old fashioned home cooking. I eat here every time I'm in Bodø. I will never be disappointed. It has been from bacalao to whale steak on the menu. Food I remember the mother made. Nice and clean. Nice staff. The place to eat good old North Norwegian food.

Something of a local institution, Lovolds serves very traditional Norwegian dishes at reasonable prices. Views from the 1st floor over the harbour, very central. Fish a speciality.

If you want a real taste of Norway, visit Løvold's. It's an old fashioned cafeteria style eatery, full of locals, with standard Norwegian fare. Peeled boiled potatoes, fish, lamb. It's not fancy dining, it's where hungry workers go at the end of the day or for a weekend outing.

This is the place for the hungry guest who want to have a traditional Norwegian dinner. Good quality food in big portions. And at a reasonable price. If your lucky you will find a table where you can enjoy a view over the harbor and the islands in North.

This is a local cafe/restaurant that have existed forever. You get Norwegian staple-food, and in graceful portions. It's homemade food away from home. Most locals use this place. It's from a past generation.

Fantastic local food. Price to value - unbelievable. Had a middag there. It was bliss. Interior kind of reminds kantina. Nothing special. But food.. You come here to ear, and food is first class.

Before arriving Bodo from Hurtigruten cruise, we found this restaurant from one of the TripAdvisor review. It took less than 10 minutes walk from the Harbor. This is a cafeteria type of restaurant, everything is precooked. The lady at the counter was very patient and helpful. Speaks pretty good English. I ordered meatloaf with split peas on the side. The drink and desert are all included as one meal. They also have some local food but we didn't try it.

Visited here with my spouse and my parents. They have good quality Norwegian and international food, and they serve in portions that will leave you well fed. The location is pretty sweet as you might get a seating with a view of the entry to the Harbour. A great place for nothing fancy, and a pleasant staff to complement it all.

Good, solid dish, from traditional Norwegian receipe. Contained fried bacon, light salted cod fish, carrots, melted butter, boiled potatos...food for working people! :-)

You will find no tie and suit here. This is the place for jeans and overalls.
This cafeteria has décor from 60ths and has been a solid anchor point for fishermen on city trip. Practical as well since it has fishing tackle shop on the ground floor. The cafeteria serves northern Norwegian home cooking in hearty portions. Nobody leaves Løvolds cafeteria hungry. For visiters to Bodø - this place is a must!

I got what i expected, good traditionally home cooking, with rather large portions. You do not go here if you want a gourmet experience, but rather if you want a taste of good traditional Norwegian cooking.
