I took my boyfriend here to eat as it was his first time in Hamar. It was my first time. We ordered the tasting menu which included 5 dishes. We wanted to try their beer as it has a good reputation and the server suggested...it could be paired well with the dishes. It sounded like a great idea, however it became evident that the different types of beer did not fit well with the dishes. Moreover, the first two dishes came within 45 minutes while the third dish came one hour after the last dish was served. If that wasn’t bad enough, the fish was cold in the middle. The restaurant was quite full and there were a few really big groups which can explain the delay in the service. It is obvious that the restaurant was understaffed and this showed in both the service and the food. We tried to get the servers attention but they were running around quite busy and not very attentive. A restaurant with good potential but needs a lot of improvement. Such a shame!More
We were welcomed by the staff and given a great table without previous reservation. Great gin tonic. the food was excellent. You must have the fish soup and the halibut. So many different tastes come up in a single dish it makes it truly exceptional....Dessert was also a surprise of tastes. thank you Victoria excellent service with the sweetest smile.More
It’s fine dining restaurant in the city centre of Hamar. They have Nordic style menu + some pizzas.
The food was good and service was very friendly. The building and feeling in the restaurant was the best part of our visit.
They have also small...brewery there and drinks was important part of the dinner.More
I feel embarrassed for my very good friend who had booked this meal three months previously for a special reunion of international friends from the UK and Canada. The poor service and complete lack of apology for a two hour wait for our main course...is frankly, in-excusable. There was clearly a resource problem in serving food. The servers were very nice and the kitchen appeared to be working hard bur in the end, the length of wait took away from the food. The management is clearly lacking and ultimately, must be to blame for a very disappointing experience. Despite the quality of the food, I would not recommend this restaurantMore
Our Norwegian friend booked this restaurant 3 months ago with the intention of showcasing stylish local Norwegian food. Sadly we had to wait about 45mins for our predinner drinks to arrive, bread arrived just before our starters, and the main course was 2 hours in...arriving. Scallops at £7.50 each to us was overpriced and the main courses were good but too late to improve our mood. No apologies, no reduction- nothing to make amends. Was gutted for our friend and would not recommend this restaurant.More
Nice restaurant in traditional architecture, and cosy interior, as well as open kitchen. Two mature men, on work, looking for nice eating, anf hit the bulls eye on a Monday evening. Menu full of temptations, difficult to chose ending up with a 5 course "smaksmeny."...Superb food with a French touch and with a matcing wine menu. Food delicate, tasteful and good looking. No problem to change desert to cheese. And as a part of the close to perfect, two waitors, both females and Norwegians (mind you) serving us with knowlege, skill and charm. Top two out of 35 restaurants visited last 5 months. Very, very content. A great thank you!!.More
I had planned to order a pizza, but was tempted by the seasonal skrei, which is cod from the waters of Northern Norway. Cooked to perfection, a loin piece with a butter sauce, crispy beans and mashed peas. Lovely beers from their own brewery, too.
Behind the doors of this old brick building you will find a variety of French inspired food and pizza. My party went for a 6/7 course set menu. An excellent choice that included delicious turbot and beef main courses. The consomme of fish was a...bit salty as a starter. If you are very hungry the 7th course was a well composed cheese platter. The service was great all evening. It is easy to accept the wine menu that comes with the food. Despite good wines we found the package a bit expensive. Also, following three glasses of white wine along with the first 3 courses, we ended up with 4 cl of red wine to match the beef! However, our waiter generously poured another 4 cl when we made her aware of the "problem".More
