Great food, amazing service. Well worth the price! A bit in the background but I would easily eat here if I ever come back to Vienna.

Ate here twice while in Vienna,on both times we were impressed by the quality of the food and the jovial service. Large portions and good wine selection made for an enjoyable evening

I had the breaded veal cutlet with potato salad, while my partner had the caesar salad with chicken. Both were good. My portion of veal could have easily fed two people. The service was very good, and the atmosphere was most pleasant. This restaurant specialises in typical Austrian cuisine.

Just what we prefer - authentic local food - with a twist - in a not too touristy place - off the beaten track and frequented by those in the know, looking for good food, cozy ambience and friendly service - all provided in spades by this great little restaurant

We went early on a Saturday evening, having had the Wiener recommended by the hotel. We appreciated the warm welcome from charming staff, and greatly admired the ambience and decor. The traditional Austrian food is presented with creative and contemporary flair, and with an expert's eye for detail. Quite simply, everything was delicious. Don't be put off by what might... More

Looking for a place to eat a typical Austrian dinner, I was recommended this restaurant by my hotel. The place is located on a small street in a residential area of Vienna. The atmosphere is nice and the guests were a mix of locals and tourist/business people. Service was good and personal. Prices reasonable.

Food is wonderful! As I am a foreigner I always wanted to try traditional dishes when in Vienna, but all the time I went for traditional it happened to be crowded with tourists, noisy and smelly. Not the Wiener Restaurant!I liked the food so mush, espdcially the boiled beef and thd sauces that go with the meat. And service is a perfect 10.The waiter was as... You would not just stumble upon this restaurant. It is tucked away and doesn't exactly advertise its presence. Evidently it doesn't need to....once in you are met with an enthusiastic welcome and it is busy! Although all the table service is performed by one gentleman, you are never ignored. Indeed you are made to feel you are his only customer.... More

Our first night in Vienna took off to a delightful start with an excellent recommendation by our hotel! We started with soup-beef consommé with shredded pancake and the cream of potato with cep mushroom. Each one was rather nice so much so that my mushroom hating husband tried mine more than once! For the main he went for the classic... More

This reastuarant needs to be reserved normally. Food quality is very good and similar counts for staff!

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
