Dined here a few days ago with a large group of colleagues. We had booked a table, and this was good since the place was packed. Most of us chose the Austrian Wagyu Beef Burger which easily ranks amongst one of the best burgers I ever tasted. The hand cut chips with a garlic mayonnaise were very tasty also. One... More

I was looking for a spot to have a beer and enjoy champions league soccer. This place has everything I was looking for. 10 beers on tap and plenty of big screen TVs. Reasonable beer prices, no smoking and friendly English speaking staff. Near my hotel in the Spittelberg/museums quarter area.

We ended up spending Sunday night at Shebeen and it was a great spot. They have a limited selection of games but they have the NFL Red Zone which shows live highlights of all the games. We sat in the front room, which is smoke-free and 2 TVs showed NFL games. We met up with a fellow NFL fan and... More

This was a regular post-work venue for myself and my Viennese colleagues until the office moved a year ago. However, we recently made the trip across the city to make sure the standards had not slipped! It's a great place; the service is always accommodating, and the food is solid pub-grub. Good selection of beers on draught and imported bottles.

A really good pub. Can't comment on the food as we haven't eaten there. Good selection of draft beers, friendly staff and good service. Great location to watch football, rugby etc etc. I'm going back!

Shebeen was known to be one of THE burger places in Vienna. My boyfriend and I went there twice last year and though the burgers weren't the best we ever had they were good. Last tuesday (two days ago) we went again to Shebeen at around 21.15. The restaurant was mostly empty, there were about 3 other guests and twoxtwo... More

The real pub atmosphere with sports on the screens, good beer and chips and wings. Hang around on the sofa's and enjoy a little chillin'.

I have been frequenting Shebeen for many a year and I can safely say that the food is on the whole consistently good. Sometimes the service can be a bit slow and the waitresses a little testing, but that aside, I can honestly recommend the place. It is a pub at the end of the day and not a swanky... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
