there would hardly be any reason to order any food here, since the ambiance itself is astonishing. but what a surprise that the salmon & melon lunch dish was a beautiful and fresh delight.

The minute I walked in I loved it. Beautiful high ceilings. I presume this must have been a greenhouse before. Surrounded by some lovely old buildings. The decor was unique with large trees taking most of the space. The bar was massive. The food exceptional and prompt service. I loved my dessert. Extensive wine and beer list ever. Loved it!... We stopped at Palmenhaus to rest for a while. The surroundings are nice and the winelist is very extensive with choices for every taste and wallet.

Five of us had lunch here - indoors. I think all of us ordered fish - which I believe is their specialty. The food was good. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. One person did order half of a roasted chicken. It was tender and delicious. The accompanying salad was fresh and colorful. We didn't have any bad meals... More

Our first course was a superb salad of mixed tomatoes, avocados and figs with salad, it was a good size and satisfied one of our party who eats a vegan plus fish diet. We then ate Cobia (fish), spinach and rice with an interesting lemongrass dressing. We ate inside as it was cooler there. The service was attentive.

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
