The restaurant looks like a huge greenhouse with palm trees. It was novel and felt like we were somewhere warm despite it snowing outside!! I wasn't aware of the fish specialty of the restaurant before hand but all the specials were fish which i ordered. The food was fresh and tasty. I ordered the mixed fish which was tasty but... More

Cafe with quite poor service and unfortunately had a pretty poor waiter who actually demanded we give him a tip, i only tip when the service is good, sadly service was slow and it seemed that we were not welcomed, saying that yes the pastries were rather good although again the coffee was not up to the standard you would... The Palmenhaus atrium was a beautiful setting for lunch and really warmed us up (essentially eating in a greenhouse). We didn't have a reservation but we were seated right away because we agreed to share a table with another couple. It actually made the experience more fun to get to talk to another couple and find out what brought them... More

Very nice interior..! Good Caffè and cakes. You can also take your coffee outside and enjoy the sun with the garden view.

The place is located in a big palm tree garden in the very center of Vienna. It looks like a Konditorei, although they serve other things as well. They have large choice of wine. The food menu is not rich and everything is pretty expensive. I assume it is nice during the summer as there are tables outside overlooking the... More

This charming restaurant is something out of a dream. The surroundings are stunningly beautiful - both on a sunny and a gloomy day; The food is marvellous - slightly on the expensive side, but absolutely worth every penny; The drinks selection is outstanding! The overall atmosphere is simply fairytale-like. Equally suitable for any kind of food ritual - an indulgent... More

We had a lovely brunch at Palmenhaus. Scrambled eggs, goat cheese, bread, mango smoothie and coffee were delicious. Not to mention the beautiful building!

I had a nice meal in this particular Kaffeehaus in Vienna. Prices are slightly higher, but not too much really, considering the place and the position. The main course was ok, i particularly liked the potatoes pure with truffle (which I usually don't like). However, the winner for me was the creamy sharp amazing parsnip soup.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
