Great food Stopped here on a very rainy Vienna night and had a beer and some very nice pork medallions... like mini schnitzel to be honest. All the food looked good and later I talked to some locals who said it was great food without...any prompt from me.More

This place offers one of the best Schnitzels and also one of the best Tafelspitz I've ever had. It's pricy, but well served too. Great traditional place to go for a beer and traditional Wienn dishes. Make sure you have a reservation, though.

I wanted my partner to experience a traditional Austrian meal so we chose this Gasthaus based on the reviews. I don't eat meat so my choices were more limited. He had a schnitzel with potato salad which, while a generous portion, was just average according...to him. The potato salad was watery and disappointing. I had a pumpkin soup, which was excellent, and a beet based salad, which was not. The restaurant lacked charm and the lighting was too bright- which they were dimming as we left. I wish we'd eaten at the Xmas market instead, which we passed through on our way back to the hotel.More

Amazing food, the beef was absolutely fabulous! I will recommend to everybody but you should make a reservation.

Better to avoid this restaurant, extremely bad services and very very rude for a mediocre food. I am not sure why they still survive with such bad attitude.

This is one of the most charming places I’ve eaten in Vienna, with the arched ceiling, wood paneling painted a creamy beige, large ceramic heater in the middle, etc. It is also a small restaurant; reservations recommended; we came on a Tuesday evening, were initially...offered seating at the bar, and were given a table reserved for later guests only if we thought we could be done within an hour, which was no problem due to the rapid and pleasant service. I'd had a large meat-heavy lunch just a few hours before, so I was very pleased by their main vegetarian dish of lentils with vegetables and bread dumplings (Linsengemüse mit Semmelknödel). To drink, I was not in the mood for beer or wine, so I ordered apple juice mixed with sparkling water, and again I was pleasantly surprised that the apple juice was not the usual yellow pasteurized commercial product, but the cloudy brown artisanal real thing. My dining partner enthusiastically devoured a plate wiener of schnitzel, and commented that the accompanying potato salad was better than at other Viennese restaurants. Love it or hate it: I had riced chestnut puree with whipped cream for dessert; this is a very filling dessert with a particular flavour; I enjoyed but my table-mate did not.More

Very nice atmosphere, quite busy, often crowded. The service was just right and the prices moderate. Make sure to pick the time when the restaurant is not full.

Okay, so the food here is as good as I've had for this type of cuisine; fresh, large portions and very, very tastey indeed. The atmosphere is somewhat chaotic and overbearing as the restaurant is small and compact but with limited staff it seems. The...service is some of the worst I've ever experienced; surly waiters is an understatement as they practically snarl at you upon entry (unless it seems if you're Austrian). The staff seemed to laugh and mock customers they'd turned away and barely even acknowledge the ones who they are meant to be serving. In summation, this restaurant is good for the food but only if you don't mind being traeted like dirt. Shame really.More

I used to frequent this restaurant regularly but it’s been a few years since I’ve dined there. Was in the area, so I decided to stop in tonight. While the pleasant design and atmosphere hasn’t changed, the food was awful. I had the goulash, the...meat was tough and riddled with fat and grizzle, and the sauce was more akin to that of a chili con carne. This place was written up in the NYTimes a few years ago, so I guess they’ve decided to cater to the tourist trade and not worry about delivering food of a standard which would attract repeat visitors.More

We came here for dinner and tried the best "Wiener Schnitzel" ever. Generous portions, very nice and kind staff, cosy atmosphere, great place. Strongly recommend!
