5 of us came here for dinner, we did not have reservations. The food was very good and even better priced. It's a typical Viennese Pub so if you are looking for something casual and authentic, this is a good place to go. Our group had the pork schnitzel, the ribs, beef with the melted blue cheese and the Vienner... More

The Purstner is not a restaurant that one would regret passing over. The fare is good but not remarkably so. If you are in the vicinity it is good for a meal, but not a place that one might make an effort to go to.

Purstner is a great Viennese gastro pub. Situated downstairs in a basement, it has a great atmosphere, and a great selection of food to choose from. The portions are very generous, and taste delicious. There is also a good selection of beers to choose from. Service is equally very good. I'd recommend eating here for dinner with friends.

We got to this place unexpectedly, because the other restaurant we planned to go to, was closed. The waiter found a small Table for us without reservation, I guess because it was rather earlier - at 8 pm the place was fully occupied. Very Austrian, very cozy restaurant with nice decorations and waiters dressed in typical clothes! The food was... More

Excellent food. Went on the recommendation of my brother in law, who used to live in Vienna, and he didn't disappoint. I've read other reviews, and I disagree completely. Very friendly to tourists, got a table at 7:30 on a Saturday night, last in the house. Local beer is great, food was very good. I highly recommend you go, but... More

We went to this place in September, for dinner. We didn't book a table, but it was not a problem. The waiters were kind (one of them made a joke with us when we asked the table - and my boyfriend was using an Havaianas). We wanted to set outside, but inside is very beautiful and peculiar. Maybe, staying inside... More

Best local Austrian food that I tasted in my little trip. Good price for the size of dinner. Inside of the restaurant has a different decor (austrian environment), very cool. Inside of the restaurant has a different decor (austrian environment), very cool.

Food was excellent. I was steered towards the ribs, which included mild sauerkraut and homemade blue cheese. The fried potatoes were excellent as well. While we ate outside, the decor inside was cozy and intimate.

Good price, good food, and great service. Purstner is located on a quite street in Vienna. The servers were very good and recommended menu items that give you a great sampling of Vienna fare away from all of the tourist hustle and bustle.

All I can say is very good food but unfortunately arrogant waiter. Tourist unfriendly... I was disappointed.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
