We ate there twice on a recent visit because the food was so amazing. We received very fast service after ordering. The serving size was large and authentic Austrian food. The spare ribs were two large slabs and we had to leave a few. Wiener schnitzel is good, beef and pork cordon bleu are both wonderful. This restaurant was recommended... More

Had a great time here. The staff were very friendly. The portions were surprisingly large, even by Austrian standards. If you want to finish a schnitzel or ribs I suggest you skip lunch! Slightly on the pricey side, but well worth it for a filling and tasty meal.

We visited this restaurant during a weekend in Vienna, attracted by the reviews. The place was quite busy but there was space inside. The ambience is interesting, borderline kitsch with stuffed animals on the walls, but in general not unpleasant. We ordered a schitzel, which was large and nice tasting made of tender meat, but with a soggy crust, and... More

We chose Pürstner as we wanted to try some more traditional food after our Weiner Schnitzels the prior evening and this place was quite close to our hotel. It has a real pub feel with lovely hunting scene paintings direct onto the walls. We chose from the variety of beers on offer and enjoyed beef goulash and pork medallions, both... More

We had a pleasant dinner the first day we visited Vienna. We enjoyed the most the schnitzel and the potato salad. The service was nice and polite. I think is a good choice to taste the local dishes.

The service at almost all the restaurants we ate at was pretty slow. This one was faster than most. We got our drinks quickly and refills as needed quickly. We enjoyed our dinners of goulash, schnitzel, and cordon bleu. All recommended. Our waiter was very nice and spoke good English.

We were hoping to have a beer; the sign for the restaurant has a large frothy beer mug. The host/server welcomed us in and provided us a table; we said we were there to have a beer, and he was nice. He came to take our beer orders, then tapped the silverware and said they were a restaurant and that... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
