when you get there ( make a reservation if you want to be sure to get a table ), you'll be immediately caught by the arty and cool atmosphere. very few choices on the menu - which is always a good sign for fresh and quality cooking -. but once the choice is made, you can enjoy a highly creative... A little walk out of the center in the 2nd district the Skopik and Lohn is a real jewel. A modern interpretation of Viennise and Austrian cooking is offered and served by a most friendly crew. Excellent wines!

In several reviews, I wrote «this restaurant does not deserve its great TripAdvisor ranking». But this one really deserves it. Everything was perfect, from the starter to the dessert. The terrace was nice. The food was excellent. The staff was classy and friendly. The prices were correct for that great quality. I recommend... Sorry, I HIGHLY recommend this place.

Don't miss this restaurant, located near the center of the city. Very kind staff, good location and fantastic food (taste beef tartare with horse radish cream and braised beef with mint-pea cream). Also good price.

The restaurant's location is off the beaten path, in a residential area. Most of the guests seemed to be locals the night we had dinner here (always a good sign)! The menu had the typical Viennese fare (excellent Wiener schnitzel), but it also had some really interesting and creative items that were delicious. Everything was reasonably priced. We visited in... Was here with friends and all of us here for the first time. The menu had very limited choice for being gluten free. I ended up having the lamb. It was tasty for sure, but not a very generous portion. Two of my friends had the schnitzel...huge portions of that, but neither of them particularly liked it. One friend had... More

I was alone and strolled through the side streets of Thaborstrasse, where a number of surprising restos greet you. By accident I entered Skopik and Lohn - but all tables reserved .../but with a bit of creativity I got a table. And discovered this resto was a category on its own. Couteous and friendly waiters in white jackets, lots of... More

We have been to this restaurant several times over the years and found our experience this time even better than ever. The food was innovative, fresh and delicious, every dish was beautifully presented and the service from all staff friendly and informative. Because the evening was warm we sat outside but the inside has the most stunning ceiling.

We picked this restaurants only because it was close to the flat we were staying in. However, it turned out to be a real find. The Lamb was excellent and the Schnitzel was a perfect introduction to Vienna. Service was very good and the end price of our meal was perfectly acceptable for city eating. Not sure what the brand... Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
