This restaurant was a surprise find. The traditional food served was excellent. The service was great. The restaurant was quaint. I had expected burgers only when I first saw the name. It is a really great find.

Nice traditional atmosphere. Big menu! Lots of everything. Every month a seasonal extra menu. Just tasty and perfect place for family dinner.

We were there with a Collette Tour Group and the selections for the group were somewhat limited to a fish or cutlet entrée. Our table sampled both and our opinion was that everything served was very good. The schnitzels (beef or pork) were well prepared. From soup to nuts, it was a fun group meal prior to attending a concert... More

Good choice of burgers, fresh and tasty. Good selection of sauces to have with them and self service refillable drinks in a novelty glass jar - modern seating and restaurant area

The Bürgerhof used to be our favorite restaurant for years. However, since the previous manager retired quality went down tremendously. Having the largest menu in Vienna they usually managed to serve surprisingly good quality despite the great variety - but these days are over.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and traditional look of this restaurant. The pancakes with meat goulash)soup is one of the best I've ever tasted. It was also nice to have customers speaking German and exchanging Grüß Gott, providing an additional local taste to the food and ambience. I'll be back!

We went there with a group and everyone agreed the food was fabulous! I had the boiled beef with creamed spinach and potatoes. They also serve a beef soup with pancakes. Don't let the name scare you. It is flavorful and the pancakes strips are small. Topped off with apple strudel, the meal was perfect. They also served a peach... More

Loved the place. The Austrian place I've been searching for. Excellent food, impecable waiters and reasonable prices. Highly recommend this place apart from the touristic Vienna.

I read the other reviews and agree that smokers should be in a different dining area from non-smokers. Other than that objection, the dinner was very good and , as we were on a tour, I cannot comment on the price of the meal we had. There's a "fun" puzzle on the table to solve as you wait to be... Last month i arrived to my brother, who has been living in Vienna for the last 4 years. I asked him to show me traditional austrian restaurant, but not for tourists. So he showed me this place. As it's located not in the center, it is really not easy to find it by your own. But in fact, it is... More

Neighborhood Profile
The 18th district is the most inconspicuous of the listed neighborhoods. Where else can you still watch card players at a Viennese coffeehouse, or listen to authentic Viennese folk songs with a local audience? Like most respected Viennese neighborhoods, Währing has its own street market, Kutschkermarkt, where you can best feel its pulse. One of Währing’s loveliest outdoor destinations is the small garden palace and museum Geymüllerschlössel. The exquisite 19th century interior is spiced up by contemporary art installations curated by the Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art (MAK).
