I dined at Steirereck tonight with my husband. The setting in the park is lovely! We had made a reservation months back and in doing so, I indicated that I am pescetarian (fish only, no meat) and allergic to mushrooms. Upon ordering, I also told the waiter this and he suggested we replace the main course on the tasting menu... More

If you feel like splashing out and having a mind blowing gastronomic experience this is the place to go. The service was impeccable. The food divine. The whole experience magical. A bread trolley containing around 30 types of bread. A cheese trolley containing more cheese than you can imagine. Austrian wines to die for. You must go but be warned... More

Definitely one of the best fine dining restaurants we have experienced and worth every effort to visit. We especially loved the selection of local honey, presented on its own beehive, and the tea trolley the end. The main dishes were sourced from local ingredients and delicious. This restaurant well deserves its world ranking.

I had a chance to visit Steirereck when it was #7 or #11 on the list of best restaurants in the world. I have done about a dozen Michelin stars after and I probably had about as many before, and I have to admit that this one still ranks as my favorite. The food is superb, dito for the service,... It's position in the top 10 of the Worlds Best Restaurants is well deserved! The food was absolutely delicious and the service fantastic. In particular the bread, cheese and tea selection was very impressive

If you can afford this restaurant, I highly recommend it. The staff is welcoming, attentive and polite. The decor has a 70's vibe giving the restaurant a certain warmth. The menu is varied and they have many choices of bread. I can't stress enough how much the food was hearty and excellent.

Our evening here was the perfect end to our Vienna trip. The restaurant itself was beautiful; modern and stylish but very comfortable. The service was exceptional throughout the meal. We chose to eat a la carte and every dish was perfect - the Char and Piglet were our favourites. I have never seen such a substantial and varied bread selection... More

One of the best experience that we had in Vienna. The building is amazing in a park. The atmosphere was nice and the distance between the tables was perfect. The food was EXCELLENT. We had choosen the 7 course menu with wine and everything was absolutely perfect! The staff was professionals and friendly enough. Congratulations to the team!!!

We went to Steirereck on 3 August for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The location is superb as is the architecture. The atmosphere was very smart but also informal. The design with various areas meant that it felt we were dining amongst a very few other people. The restaurant projected a "happy anniversary" message on our tablecloth and the welcome was... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
