Our dinner at Steirereck was the best fine dining meal I have ever eaten. It truly was an experience. After treating ourselves to a sparkling wine aperitif, we chose the tasting menu with wine accompaniment. The wines and foods were so finely tuned to each other that a sip of wine actually elevated the food to even more complexity. The... More

Not as good as in years past. Service was slow and in some cases "cold". The exception was the sommelier who was delightful until he was shooed away by a woman I believe was the owner. She was not friendly but that is to be expected from Viennese waiters. The food was spotty. The appetizers were outstanding. The crawfish course... More

We decided to splurge on ourselves and have lunch here. The whole meal was an experience from the moment we stepped in till we left. There were many options to choose from for those with a more adventurous palette to those who prefer more familiar ingredients. We had the 4 course lunch. Every dish was thoughtful, well plated and exquisite.... More

I was there 10 times in the last 25 years. It was always something special. Eating and drinking is very special - starting with 50 different sort of bread and roughly 100 different cheese at the end. Everything in between is special (for example trout cooked in beeswax) - for dinner you have to calculate roughly 200 Euro with drinks.... More

The Restaurant is located in the Stadtpark just a 2 Minute scroll from the Hilton. It Servers a really very Creative Food more international than Austrian, very much based on Totals fresh Ingredients, very Special vegetables. Especially delightful are the different Breakdance,Saltos and Butter. Service is top Notschrei , pries reasonable for this Quality.

The restaurant is situated in the middle of a very nice garden. Super dining experience with innovative food. The service was a bit slow but I guess since it is a fine dine restaurant it is meant to be slow. They have an extensive wine list and a sommelier is there to help. They have a large bread cart with... More

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner and had the tasting menu-so we got to taste nearly everything that was on the menu that night. Of course, the service and ambience was perfect. The cheese cart stole our hearts!

We had one of the best dining experiences if our life at Steireck on our last night in town. This is fine dining at its best. 7 course dinner gave us a great taste for Austrian food and the light regional chardonnay we found topped off a great evening. I cant wait to return even though it is pricey.

We came across the Streirereck by chance at lunchtime and just had a snack with buttermilk but we were so impressed we returned the same evening for dinner. The best Schnitzel I have ever tasted, not the tasteless stuff most tourists are treated to. My fish (my first "Refinance") was delicious. I had a cheese board to finish, which was... More

Excellent dining experience in Vienna. We had a 4 course lunch and everything was a delight to the sense. The service was impeccable throughout.Everything was beautifully and elegantly presented through the course of our meal, showing the restaurant's meticulous attention to detail from every single ingredient to the smallest detail throughout the patron's experience.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
