I understand this restaurant is many many years old, which probably means something. Food is pricey (but not to an excessive degree), but this is to be expected from such a place. The plates and servings were quite big. Stuff polite, very clean. There can be a little waiting before finding a table, but again, this is not too unusual... More

During the 80s '3 Husaren' reigned supreme in Vienna's admittedly small gourmet scene under the leadership of Uwe Kohl and Ewald Plachutta. In 1993 the two split and Ewald Plachutta started to build a small empire of restaurants. The food is so quintessentially Austrian that on some days it's hard to find Austrians amongst all the tourists looking for local... More

Friends took us to the Plachutta in Nussdorf. The restaurant looks simple from the outside and is equally simple if not simpler inside. We had had Tafelspitz before in Germany but not in Austria so we ordered it based on their recommendation. The ffod was simply outstanding, well prepared, well served, and extremely tasty. Great food accompanied by a very... More

Food is good as always!! But service this time was not friendly at all. Our waiter was rude and did not smile at all. In a world was not friendly. Only after we left him tips he smiled once

One of the best places in Vienna to taste the tasty Austrian dish Tafelspitz. The service is excellent.

Preferable to inner city branch! Friendlier and less touristy. Schulterscherzl and Huferschwanzerl are among great cuts of beef to try. Excellent Austrian whites. Check out Otto Wagner's sluice on Danabe canal nearby: also Karl Marx Hof. Great staff!

I've been here with colleagues! Excellent ambient, very polite staff. The specialty of the restaurant is a beef soup which was delicious. Congrats to the owner and the staff.

Went to Nussdorf on our last morning before leaving Vienna. Too our luck we tripped into Plachutta since many other places were closed because it was a Sunday morning. I opted for a tafelspitz, wife for a tufelspitz. Both, including the beef soup, were really nice. I'd recommend the tafelspitz anytime. Service was good and dessert choice was wide &... More

I did not get respons on email but when I Arrived there was plenty of space. The vaiter hade no knowledge of the meny, neither of the drinks. Fod came fast but no drinks showed up. Later we got some bread. This is obviosly a place with staff problem but food is good. Not worth the money.

Neighborhood Profile
Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are Neustift am Walde with even more great wine taverns, and café restaurant Cobenzl, up on Cobenzl hill – fantastic for great vistas of Vienna. The woodland around Kahlenberg has a wonderful and not too strenuous hiking path - just don't forget the insect repellent. If you have adventurous children, take them to Waldseilpark Kahlenberg (forest rope park Kahlenberg). A must-do if you want a taste of the Vienna Woods is a stop at Josefinenhütte next door with its great food, cosy interiors and wonderful outdoor space.
