After a bone-chilling winter's day in Vienna, we were pleasantly surprised to be able to walk into a late Saturday night reservation at the Imperial Hotel's one star Michelin restaurant OPUS. The room is itself cozy and set apart from the Imperial Café in the front of the hotel. The two principal servers easily kept up with the small number... More

It doesn't matter whether you are in Vienna for a day or for a week, you need to visit this place. The culinary experience is remarkable. I personally suggest the signature degustation of OPUS menu, which is all senses experience.

We have enjoyed our dinner. The food was very good, especially meat. Good selection of wine. Very beautiful presentation of the dishes.

Opus was my second Michelin star experience in Vienna and probably the one that worked best for my family. My wife and daughter are vegetarians and sometimes have a sub-optimal experience in top restaurants (i.e.. the amuse bouche is not appropriate for them). Opus had a full vegetarian tasting menu as well as two traditional menus (which my son and... More

The restaurant itself is relatively smaller and only looked after by two servers but this only served to to make the setting more intimate and personal. We enjoyed the fact that we could choose the courses we wanted when selecting the five-course option - can highly recommend the cheese course! We also enjoyed the bread and butter which was offered... More

We enjoyed an American Thanksgiving at Restaurant Opus. What a treat! If only all Thanksgiving turkeys could be traded in for a Michelin star dining experience. The service was impeccable and the food decadent. As other reviewers mention, the menus range from 4-7 courses with additional amuse bouche interspersed. One of the more memorable highlights of the meal was the... More

A cozy little restaurant in the Hotel Imperial. But even in the coziest restaurants, the main thing is the chef. Chef Stefan Speiser manage to cook a surprisingly simple and at the same time delicious dishes. You can enjoy these dishes with a combination of fine wine from the excellent wine list. Service in the restaurant is excellent.

Good food, very nice presentation. Some courses are really tasty and exceptional. Dessert was beautifully presented, fresh and tasty. The scallop was slightly overcooked. The service was a "little" bit too fast, there was almost NO waiting time in-between, and he waitress started to take my empty plate while my husband was still eating his last morsel.

A one star Michelin dinner which lived up to expectations. Tasty amuse bouch touches. There were tasting menus available: the Menu Opus, Menu Imperial or Menu Vegetarian from four to six courses, but you could pick a la carte for your own number of courses from any of the three, which we did. The blue lobster with pea, passion fruit... More

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
