Old fashioned ambient very attentive service, excellent cakes. Great selection. The cakes are well balanced. Not to sweat, but many flavours. Typical Viennese, do not exspect English or French cakes.

The cakes and coffee were delicious and there’s a great selection but I found the service arrangements confusing. We had to go to the first floor to get anyone’s attention....then you are seated and drinks order taken. You choose the cake from a buffet and...More

The chocolate torte was simply divine! We enjoyed it with Vienna coffee at the bar and were quickly served! They had an amazing selection of chocolates to buy as gifts/souvenirs in their store as well. It was one of my favorite chocolate experiences!!!

We returned to one of Vienna's institutions, the historic Demel coffeehouse and were a bit disappointed to see their staff visibly "suffering" from the large crowd waiting to "get the Demel experience. While you have a view on the kitchen where they are preparing their...More

One of the oldest (est. 1786) coffee houses in Vienna. Lovely cakes made on the premises. Good coffee. Very touristy though. It was very busy on Sunday, it’s worth reserving a table to avoid the queues.

Busy/popular venue spread over 3 floors. Staff efficient and good choice of cakes from cake buffet. 28€ for 3 cakes & 2 coffees. Probably a 'place to go to be seen'. One of those things you have to do I guess.

This is the place that you must visit in Vienna. Big selection of cakes, cookies and etc. And like bonus there is “live show” how they make those goods. You may observe them till you waiting in line. Great service!

We went there in the morning. Ordered breakfast, apple strudel, sacher and coffee. Taste and service were at average level but prices were a little bit high. The place is an iconic cafe in Vienna. You can visit it once.

I didn't see any items marked as gluten-free although their menu and shop has an extensive selection. Maybe they do cater for people with coeliac disease and it is probably mentioned on their website.
