Our Vienna guide book listed this among the top 10 cafes in the city, and with Sigmund Freud being reputed to have taken his morning coffee there, we decided to give it a try. Arriving at around 11am on a Wednesday morning, we were immediately shown to a table. Inspite of a number of tables clearly being available in the... More

It is a fine example of a Viennese coffee shop. They have really high class pastries and cakes. Try them all. I highly recommend the grandmother hot Choclate. It is amazing .

I ordered cream schnitten with my cappuccino and it was superb. The waiter recommended the apple strudel and even though I have given up finding a good one on this trip we ordered it. THE BEST Apfelstrudel we had by far. The service was great. The atmosphere was very beautiful and energetic :)

While at Landtmann's you will notice all of the local and tourist enjoying the coffee and cakes. Family's are there after church and all dressed up. They only challenge is getting a large table outside during peak dining hours. Just be patience and persistence.

Staff was very attentive but also very busy when we visited, so there was a bit of a wait, but when they arrived they were most helpful. Very nice local dishes served quite quickly, and the pastries are so good!

Visited this infamous cafe for the strudel and we were not disappointed the granduer is amazing and the service is impeccable. Well worth a bisit and you must try the strudel with vanilla sauce( not custard)

Very nice, very clean and very Austrian, Vienna sausages, sauerkraut, goulash, schnitzels, veal apple strudel and so on. The food was very simple and very very good. A lot of the staff were quite old and my experience of Vienna, limited though it is, is that the older folk are kinda stern and very very few speak a word of... More

I stopped by this cafe alone, apparently entering through an ancillary door. However I was greeted in a friendly way and seated immediately. The waiter spoke in unaccented English and served me with style. Vienna coffee houses are known world-wide and this was mine. Recommended.

Every time over the years that we've gone past on a tram, we've said - "must go there" so we did. One word - busy! Its one of the "must visit" cafes on the tourist list for a good reason; it is beautiful inside, the staff are efficient, and the standard of food is first class - not so much... More

We visited the restaurant as we saw it while walking passed when sightseeing. We made a reservation online the day before. We were sitting in the front part which is more a cafe but you get nice views of the surrounding architecture. The service was wonderful and the food delicious. It was pricey but this is perhaps due to location... More

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
