Very crowded , far too many tables. Menus in German and English but still they got our order wrong and we did order in German . Overpriced.

I had reserved a window table inside for our 40th wedding anniversary lunch. It was on our bucket list - had travelled to Austria from Dublin Ireland. When we arrived a blonde unfriendly lady showed us to a table in a porch like area -...not the terrace , not the actual restaurant. We sat for a moment there, wondering where is the restaurant from all the photos we had seen - ie Austrian cafe vibe. I went inside and there were lots of free window tables with reserved signs on them. We went back to the lady reiterated we had a window table reservation inside the restaurant, she then stomped us through the restaurant and showed us a bench like tiny table between the host’s desk and the door into the kitchen (a thoroughfare) , we said no , we had reserved a window table, As I said there were maybe 4/5 window tables free at this point , she then unbelievably showed us to a tiny table thing at the edge of two window table seats , we said no and she refused to seat us at one of the free window tables!!! We left Cafe Landemann at this point. I have no idea what was going on with this tall blonde unfriendly rude lady - but there was no way she was seating us at a window table that we had reserved. As I said , it was our 40th wedding. Anniversary lunch and we were on a trip from Dublin Ireland to Austria for the big occasion- probably won’t be back there. It was really disappointing, annoying, upsetting- feel bad about even now. However, we found a dotey little cafe down a side street a few minutes walk away and had a gorgeous lunch !! Avoid Cafe Landtmann at all costs - have never had an experience like it- didn’t get to sit down didn’t get to sample the food - just treated obnoxiously- and we don’t know why!?More

Decent egg florentine and egg benedict. Outdoor seating on a beautiful Sunday morning. Selection of patisseries are not as extensive but not an issue.

The waiters are rather stressed. The prices are high. Expect to pay additional charges, even for the potato salad next to your schnitzel.

A nice venue but the beef consommé was very ordinary and the Schinkenfleckerl (baked pasta with ham and cheese) was dry and tasteless. At least they had the courtesy not to charge for it. The Debreciner sausages with mustard were tasty - though I guess...it's hard to screw up sausages. The cakes looked great but honestly, after the disappointing dinner, I was reluctant to try them.More

Used to come here often but recently had an awful experience where the manager barked orders at me and my friend. I emailed the owner about it (which they encourage on their website) and he dug his heels in and blamed me for the rude...service. I've since spoken to some of my business contacts in Vienna who work closely with him and his reputation is AWFUL; an arrogant, rude man who surrounds himself with "yes" people who are too intimidated to give him honest feedback. Even on Tripadvisor, he spends his time responding to bad reviews with non-apology apologies where he places the blame on the customer instead of his staff. It's clear the staff are simply following his example. Will never return to Cafe Landtmann or any other institution owned by the Querfeldt family again.More

We had a very pleasant experience here. We didn’t have to queue and the service was polite and efficient. The room is beautiful and although it was expensive we felt it was worth it. Delicious Apple strudel with vanilla custard and baked cheese cake.

Sadly, the positive review didn't mirror our experience. Bought a schwarzwalderkirsch torte, but quickly figured out that the dessert had been frozen beforehand. The cherries were hard and cold. It's a shame, because our expectations were relatively high and we were met with disappointment.

We went to cafe Landtmann to try the Vienna Schnitzel, and the apple strudel. Neither dish were exceptional or something I would come back for, I was surprised to have read many positive reviews about the dishes and hence was duly disappointed.

As it was a warm spring day it was lovely to sit outside enjoying the sunshine whilst having our first Vienna coffee & cake experience in one of the oldest cafes in Vienna established 1873. Husband had Heiße Schokolade & Sacher Kirsch-Maroni I had Mozart...Schokolade & Landtmann's Torte all absolutely. Customer service was excellentMore

From the second I arrived, I felt welcomed into the Cafe. The staff were friendly and respectful, very quick and eager to help. I had the Warm Apfelstrudel with vanilla sauce and the hot chocolate with whipped cream. Both were delicious. The apfelstrudel was creamy,...the apple was there, and the drink had warmed me up. The place was nice, beautifully decorated. It was clean.More

I dunno folks. Over-rated me thinks. I had the sachertorte, you know, that famous cake everyone raves about. It was underwhelming. Almost on the dry side. The latté was great and very large...biggest I've had in Europe...but it didn't make up for the disappointing dessert....Fancy place where you go to be seen.More

Exquisite breakfast! I visited Cafe Landtman twice for breakfast during my stay in Vienna. It is a traditional and elegant cafe. For 30 euro you can eat amazing eggs benedict, fresh orange juice and a proper coffee. The best breakfast in Vienna!
