Excellent place to enjoy Spanish food right in the centre of Vienna. We shared 3 entrees between the two of us and it was one of the best meals I had in Vienna. Great presentation and it really tasted as good as it looked. Good service, reasonably priced and nice outdoor setting, can recommend this restaurant!

Hip quality neighbourhood restaurant. Solid Spanish food with top ingredients. Nice outdoor terrace on a quiet side street. Good Spanish and Austrian wine list. Knowledgeable service.

Bravo to the Chef and his team! 5 dish test set & 5 wines! My plate was left empty & polished by the bread not to leave a piece!

It is our second review after our 4th visit to El Hans. The service is still very friendly, beer and wine excellent and served at the right temperature. They have a new menu where our favorite tapas calamari fritti was absent but you can still get them, just ask the waiter. The food is as usual wonderfully presented but... There... More

Vienna has many places to eat outside in Summer but this is without doubt my favourite yet. The staff were all attentive and friendly without being pushy or intrusive (can't remember the names but included a Tyrolian man and an Argentinian lady). The starters were great, the mains good but the Apple 'pretending to be a lemon' dessert was absolutely... More

After reading through all these execellent reviews, we had high expectations to this restaurant. We decided to go for the six course tasting menu, which would include appertizer, salad, fish, main course and dessert. Somewhat experimental food with sangria melon and hamon ibericó as a starter, however we did not get a typically spanish impression of the food. The entrecôte... More

We arrived to find an interesting space with a long L shaped interior. The bar stretched far into the distance. We were whisked to our table and ordered the Price fix 6 menu. The sequence and order of the items were well orchestrated and we enjoyed everything presented. These type of Top Chef style restaurants are very popular in the... More

Loved sitting outside on a nice warm summer evening enjoying the food, neighborhood and atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant! We will be back to enjoy another meal and to explore more on the menu.

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
