The Restaurant Nihonbashi serves Japanese cuisine, but it was the most horrific Japanese food I have eaten since ages. The salad was terrible, food too salty and the main courses were not fresh at all. The service was very poor, they sometimes interrupted our dining experience with the moving of food, and did not smile at us or treat us... More

Was craving Asian food after a few days on the road and came across this restaurant. Having been disappointed by other restaurants with great reviews, I walked in with some trepidation. I was immediately greeted by a Japanese waiter and then upon opening the menu, quite reassured in the restaurant's authenticity. The food wasn't cheap, but was quite reasonable for... More

We wanted to eat some sushi and followed reviews on Tripadvisor about this wonderful place with reasonable prices. They have an authentic interior and all the stuff is dressed in traditional dress. However, the place is very expensive. Eventually we left looking for other place with more reasonable prices.

The restaurant is a prime example of Japanese cuisine and ambiance. We were delighted to walk through the entrance into a traditionally designed Japanese restaurant, complete with appropriate music (which is big for me). They have traditional "floor" seating, in addition to tables. The food was incredible! The combination dishes were the best value in our opinion, so that we... More

The restaurant is located in centre and the transportation can stop right in front of it! Very convenient ! The staff is very friendly and food is good , a little bit expensive ( compare with the common cost in Vienna ) but worth !

The restaurant is located just on the opposite side of the opera house. Nihonbashi is for sure on of the most authentic Japanese I've ever been to in Europe. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was very friendly and efficient. We had Unagiju (grilled eel on rice), halibut and sushiiiii. I can't wait to return the next... More

In a nut shell: Excellent A la carte Nigiri. Very Good spring season menu. Very good Sake selection. Avoid the Sukiyaki. Slow service. Nihinbashi has a Japanese feel. The staff is Japanese, dressed in traditional dress. Parts of the restaurant has traditional Japanese seating and the menu has seasonal options and wide Sake variety. The seasonal food we sampled was... More

It is a mixture style of classical Japanese & modem design for decoration. My husband and I went to have big lunch to celebrate his birthday. Since we can not have Sushi, we ordered Tempura set & eel Dom. They taste so yummy & originally and small side dish also quite big amount. Will go there again!

Went for a solo dinner and ordered Genmaicha, Taro balls, and Yuzu marinated grilled Salmon. Decent food quality and excellent service. Open from 17:00 hrs daily. The lokale isn't very quiet, although there is a special section where I wasn't asked to sit. That section had Japanese style sitting, which I would've preferred. They do have a huge selection of... One of the best sushi places I have been in general, seems authentic with japenese staff and decor. We tried different types of sushi sets and tempura, highly recomended, short walk from Stephansdom

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
