It was raining and cold and the line was immensely long. I had to try and find out for myself what was so great about this place. The stand was located by the Opera house and a block away from my accommodation. My group decided...to grab a light dinner at the stand. We asked for a take-out and could not bear to eat standing up in the rain. The cashier packed our food in aluminum and gave us plenty of condiments and pickles that I had requested. We brought it back to our flat and to our surprise the food was amazing, especially with a nice cold beer. I don't know about the cleanliness of the place since it is a stand and a local street vendor but the food was good for a quick bite on a cold day. We had made two additional stops to the stand before we left Vienna.More

We tried all three types of their sausages and all of them were excellent. We especially liked the sausage with cheese.

This was awesome and perfect for three starving individuals at two midnight. Would definitely return to eat it again

Good wurst, nothing fancy, but a cheaper way to get away with hunger when strolling through the city center.

I found the recommendation of this spot on one of the websites and being close to it we decided to step by for a sausage and hot wine. We asked for two hot wine and a sausage with cheese inside, the typical one. The wine...was really good - my boyfriend (Spanish) didn’t really like hot wine before, but this one totally convinced him - after that day he was the first one to offer to have some hot wine on the street during the rest of our trip ;) Sausage - the one with cheese inside was the best one we had during all the stay in Viena as well. The second one we took was the spicy one, and honestly speaking we wouldn’t ask for it again - the cheese one rules 😉 The only think we didn’t really like about the place was that the man putting sausages to fry them was not using any gloves or sth, he just put them with his hands - we believe that in the place where you can see how things are being prepared (open kitchen, grills etc) they should actually use at least some basic things like gloves if touching a food, it just don’t feel good when you see it being done the other way. To sum up: I would definitely go back to have a mug of hot wine and a cheese sausage there!More

I really enjoyed my lunch here... it’s a sausage in a bun, so I can’t get too excited, but it was very good. The staff is more than a little abrupt (rude?!) and the place only accepts cash... but if that doesn’t bother you, yes...get your sausage here!More

The sausage was OK, but no better than you can get basically anywhere else in the city. But the big problem is that these guys are super rude, just awful to the customers who waited in long lines to order. Give your business to someone...else.More

Its a hot dog stand and not a scientific laboratory. In my eyes (and taste) there are places that are as good, 30% cheaper, and no line. Last night I came out of the volksoper and the stand next to the U6 station made AMAZING...hot dogs with a smile.More

I would not recommend this stall. The sausage was greasy and had a weird cheese inside. My taste buds were so offended by this vile food. Bread around the sausage was dry and cheap please don't fall for the hype. It put me off my...food for the rest of the day and a rip off.More

Came here with my girlfriend to try the famous "wurstel in a bun" in Vienna, near the Opera, as we saw the reviews in Tripadvisor and its certification of excellence. We decided to have a quick lunch here and had the classic wurstel inside a...bun, a typical viennese beer, and fries with ketchup. The wurstel at first bite was delicious, but the bun was a 1day old bun, and there was a looooot of mustard inside it.. literally a lot that it was hard to taste the deliciousness of the wurstel because of that mustard. We felt that we were eating only mustard and bun .. Too overrated. The fries was the normal frozen fries that you buy in a supermarket. The queue at 12nn time was already long. They only accept CASH, so make sure you have enough cash/coins with you.More
