We walked into Tian by chance, just because we liked the "look" of it - and we enjoyed one of the most amazing restaurant experiences in many years. This is an extraordinary restaurant, you almost wouldn't notice it is vegetarian. Vegetables are amazingly fresh and well-combined (--> Tardivo Trevisano salad), dishes full of flavours (try, if available: Cime de Rappa... More

Tian was outstanding. Vegetarian restaurants can be so samey, but everything I tasted (which was 9 courses!) was original and delicious. The service was attentive and friendly. I have nothing more to say - except that I'm glad I wasn't paying the bill... ;-)

Was given a gift card for Tian as a christmas present for my boyfriend and I. I was very excited to experience an all vegetarian restaurant and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere, staff and food was all amazing. The waiter was unbelievably helpful and knowledgeable of the menu and ingredients as well as very friendly and welcoming! Coming from... More

Returning to Vienna after a period of some 6 years, we were surprised to find so many vegetarian restaurants so decided to spoil ourselves with a meal at the top-rated Tian. First impressions were good - calming decor and excellent welcome from the lady at front-of-house. Our waiter also made us feel very welcome. We decided to go for the... More

I wanted a treat for my birthday, so booked us in (it was very busy, so booking is clearly essential), despite the fact that my husband, who doesn't normally go for food he doesn't recognise, was outside of his comfort zone. But he was converted. The food was amazing, and they show what can be done without having to include... More

Whenever I go away I look for any Veggie restaurants with Michelin stars. Hence here I came. The food is served as expected for such a place with a la carte offered but a tasting menu of various sizes advised. We went for the largest with drinks. I was particularly impressed with the sommelier: my husband doesn't drink alcohol but... More

We loved our meal at this restaurant and can't understand how anyone else didn't have the same experience. Would definitely go back.

Until now, I have had the pleasure to dine at TIAN four times in the course of the last years - witnessing their rise from culinary underdog to highly praised gourmet temple. A few weeks ago, they have been awarded three Gault Millau toques and have arrived all the way up top: an incredible story for a restaurant that serves... More

Freshly invigorated in our vegetarian beliefs following the Morrissey gig the night before, we thought we'd seal our romantic weekend in Vienna with the finest vegetarian food known to humanity. And this was it! A fancy restaurant serving haute cuisine of organic vegetables displayed in a frippery of nothingness and all the toss of of the ceremonialism that goes with... More

We discovered too late how expensive this place is- we ate better vegetarian food, with more adequate, even ample portions, in very charming settings in both Prague and Budapest. Though a very nice atmosphere, with polite, attentive staff, and good food, beautifully presented, this was just too expensive for the quality and amount of food we got. Save your money... More

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
