I usually write only those reviews that surprise me - either positive or negative. Unfortunately, this is of the latter category. Granted, you don't see a lot of tourists in this joint, although the location of the restaurant is very prominent and nicely central downtown...More

We have decided to try this place after wandering around due to Christmas Markets shopping. It has a traditional furniture, nothing particular relevant, even dish choices are the typical ones but that is not a good reason to don't give it a try. All dishes...More

I have made a pledge not to write bad reviews, but rather to promote good businesses with positive reviews. The bartender/waiter at Gustl-Bauer made me break my pledge by being the most obnoxious, condescending, sad excuse of a person in the service industry. Of course...More

We had been very busy in Vienna, and somehow I hadn't eaten a "Tafelspitz", so just round the corner from our apartment, we found what I wanted/needed. It was served with the correct radish sauce and apple puree (see pic). Very nice!!

I made a reservation at Gustl Bauer the other night and enjoyed my meal there. It has a typical Austrian menu. I had the Tafelspitz and the kaiserschmarnn for dessert. Both dishes were very good. Good location. Seemed popular with locals.

The prices were fair, the meal very good and the waiters/waitresses very sympathetic. It is located in a quiet street so we ate on the terrasse and it was really pleasant.

We enjoyed some typical Viennese cuisine...schnitzels and goulash....but the prices were pretty steep, and the wait staff was not overly attentive or friendly. I think there are better options nearby!

Had the goulash and the schnitzel, both were very good. Not cheap, but very tasty. Spent a while looking at the German menu, then we're given an English one which made things much simpler.
