I had read previous reviews of this restaurant and it didn't disappoint. My daughter had the filet steak and I had fish. Prompt, courteous service and lovely food. Worth a visit.

A must. Attentive staff, very good trad Italian cooking, fine wines, great indoor or outdoor in quiet location away from the main roads. Highly recommended

We had a late post-opera dinner here for eight at a nice quiet table (don't sit near the bar). Our waiter was on top of everything very attentive and got a complex list of orders right. Food is delicious and reasonably priced. One of the few restaurants that we visited in Vienna that did not hold you for ransom on... More

This is an excellent Italian restaurant with a great location (just across the opera). You would get better Italian food in Italy, but it was a nice surprise in Vienna.

Excellent Italian Restaurant with a nice and various menu card. Good service with humour and advice. Cook Giorgio excellent with fun entertaining his guest. Even late in the evening all was done to accommodate a table of 4 with no meal restrictions. The grappa from the house made our return to hotel a lot easier. In the centre of Vienna,... More

Located next to the Vienna State Opera House, San Carlo is a must for dinner after opera performances. San Carlo is a family-run restaurant that offers amazing Italian food - spaghetti alle vongole, fish and seafood are my favorites. Professional and polite service, excellent wines.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
