Had dinner here - trying the Schnitzel and it didn't disappoint. The accompanying potato salad was a highlight! The waitress who served us was friendly and helpful. The array of desserts was tempting - the strudel is recommended as is the pancake dessert. Be aware though that attempting the schnitzel and pancake dessert is certainly filling! The restaurant is just... More

We came here quite late for dinner service and they were still open to serve food. The lady sat us to our table quite quickly and we later transferred to a non smoking area. Our orders were taken and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. I ordered the schnitzel and it was crunchy and delish. We... More

The waiter/waitress matters! Let's not forget. I always catch the moods of people surrounding me or at least I am sensitive to it. That's why at least for me that's so significant. Her energy fills the room. I wish I had the vocabulary to express the whole beauty of the ways she moves, talks and smiles. Everything else was also... More

I was staying at an hotel nearby and needed a place for a beer and a bite to eat. Stumbled across this place. The service is good, although when I ordered my Weiss beer, the waitress bout a normal pils glass, although she did bring a proper one when asked. I order the Cosmopolitan burger, which is chicken marinated in... More

I was looking for a beer, a bite, and a brief escape from the crowds on Mariahilfer Straße, and this place fit the bill. It was quiet and pleasant. I had the schnitzel, and it was fine.

After walking through the Palace grounds we stop at Café Cosmopolitan for lunch. The two of us shared the order of the Mixed Grill. Was plenty for both of us. Tasty too.

After a long day walking Schonbrunn Palace, we needed a quick bite to eat that wouldn't be too heavy. To our delight, Cafe Cosmopolitan was open on a Sunday (they normally aren't) so we settled in for some great food, wine and beer, and free wi-fi! The "light plate" had some of the best seasoned grilled chicken and vegetables I've... More

Visited second time. Last year was a bit better. You could call the waiter with a call know on the table. This year service was slow, though friendly. Music is not loud. Prices are not high if you visit it before 2 pm. Something like 6,5 or 7 euro. Fachitas Food is very tasty. I liked it, especially

We had just arrived in Vienna and were waiting to check in to our hotel, so we stumbled through Mariahilfer Strausse and saw this wonderful sign which said "Cocktails & Food" which is exactly what we were looking for - brilliant! We sat down and were given a German menu, which, although was quite funny at first trying to figure... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
