About
Enjoy traditional Viennese specialities in this elegant and stylish restaurant. You can either sit in the black and white floor-tiled glass conservatory facing the Opera House or in the grand, dark red damask dining room with large oil paintings and crystal chandeliers. The windows of the conservatory are folded away in summer to make a large open terrace. Live piano music in the evenings adds to the ambience.

Pros: - Gorgeous space. Lovely ambiance. Live piano music. Cons - Poor knowledge of wine. I know a decent amount about wine, and I asked about two particular wines. The response was that one was "stronger." They should know something about wine when charging over...More

We dined in the Rote Bar on the first night of a three day stay in the Hotel Sacher. What a beautifully decorated room - plush velvets and predominantly red in colour - I thought it to be very romantic! There is a piano player...More

We had dinner at the Rote Bar last night, after an enchanting Elisir d'Amore next door at the Staatsoper. Our first selection, the duck, was sold out, but the consomme' with dumplings and the venison were perfect, a flavorful yet light choice for a late...More
