Mixed furniture, DIY benches and even a little house with an old Nintendo playstation. The WerkzeugH is a great and very green place to hang out in summer nights to enjoy unconventionell beers and bohemian atmosphere, where they have managed to creat a small green paradise in one of the most concret districts of Vienna. Since it is very much... More

I really like this place! I was there with my friends and we had a great time! Cool, cosy, artistic and alternative. So if you want to chill, eat good food and drink some beer just go there. We felt like at home with all those couches and nice people. Highly recommended!

We wanted to celebrate a friend's birthday and therefore reserved a table and also asked if we could bring a bday cake. We got back a confirmation (for both, the reservation request and the bday cake), together with a lot of additional info e.g. no cakes containing raw eggs and no plates and forks could be provided. When we arrived,... More

I don't normally do this - I don't write negative comments but this place unfortunately requires one. Long story short: What I usually expect when I get to a pub is to get a drink and a at least an acceptable service. We came in the evening and waited 1 hour for a drink. The place was full but there... More

Staying in Margareten

Neighborhood Profile
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
