Café Museum has been a location frequented by many geniuses of the 20th century. Since its inauguration in 1899 it has been a meeting point for painters, writers, composers and architects. Mid 2010 Café Museum was taken over by Berndt and Irmgard Querfeld. The importance of a high level comfort is something the Querfeld family have always been very aware of and therefore they have decided to restore the original Zotti design back to its original glory.
We stopped in on a snowy day and were lucky to be seated quickly. Nice ambiance with professional service. We went for apple strudel and Wiener Melange, both delicious. A bit expensive but worth a try for traditional Viennese coffee experience.
It is a cozy place and the ambiance with the green colors used is lovely. The coffee and apple strudel were mouth watering. We found the place as we were walking from the Karlsplatz towards the Opera House. You have to see it and enjoy
We went there for christmas eve dinner. We had made a reservation 3 weeks in advance and yet were assigned a table not of our choice even after having a baby. Reason given: table are pre assigned and I cannot change them. so much for...More
Came here a short walk from the Secession Museum. Had a high-end coffee with some potent Schlag and rum. Also a tasty apricot-filled crepe. Herr Michael took good care of me and I didn’t feel the need to rush as I had at so many...More
The service was fast and attentive. The coffee was good, also the kaiserschmarrn, however the meat soup was below quality. If you want a rain cover, like we did, it's a nice place, rather busy, but the library corner and the comfortable plush seats are...More
We had stood for an hour at the Rathaus watching the New Years Day Concert life from the Musikverein, but it was getting cold and we needed something warm and a sit down. We found the museum cafe recommended in our guidebook and there was...More
Visited the cafe for a 2nd time. Busy at lunchtime but able to find a table. Friendly efficient staff, recommend the pumpkin soup and the chicken salad which was huge. Unfortunately didn’t have space for cake we’ll come back.
You pay for the old world charm, but here you also get top notch service and good quality food plus dreamy cakes. Our waiter was impressive and had full control of all the tables at all times. A joy to experience.
The cakes look delicious, however, I was disappointed by the synthetic taste. Tried 2 different cakes and 2 drinks and wasn’t at all impressed.
Would not return.More
