Small Italian restaurant it the center of Vienna with very simple interior but absolutely homely atmosphere. We loved almost all dishes from menu, especially pizza and tortellini with ragout, which are FANTASTIC!!! If U R looking for proper Italian food in Vienna, this is a place U must visit for sure :)

A very welcoming Restaurant in a quiet cobblestone street near the Museums in Vienna. Lovely food and good service. Homemade pastas, fresh insalata mista. Very good (real italian) pizzas. We enjoyed the meals and went twice! The mixed antipasti is also very nice, reminded us of our trips to Toscana.

On our first night in Vienna we called 4-5 restaurants that was full so we choose to go out of Innerstadt, and we found a very good and cosy little restaurant where we ate antipasti, ravioli and lamb chops. The food and wine was very good at informell setting. I guess it was a father and 2 daugthers that served... More

In Vienna on a long weekend break. Found this restaurant on trip advisor and couldn't be more pleased we did. It is another small establishment, but with an excellent menu and great hosts. This was the best eating place we went to whilst in Vienna. Both our pizzas were delicious and lovely thin bases, with tasty toppings and my wife's... More

I visit da Giovanni regularly, and have never been disappointed. It serves without doubt one of the best Pizzas in town at a very, very reasonable price. I have had Pizza in many countries around the world, and da Giovanni ranks way up in my opinion. I am surprised by the negative review before mine, specifically pointing out the Pizza,... More

Definitely the worst pizza I have ever had the misfortune to eat. Very mediocre (that's being kind!) decor and not very comfortable. Clean enough but very old fashioned. Totally uninspiring menu and if you want anything other than pizza you could be in for a struggle. Very limited selection of pasta which is strange for an Italian Restaurant. Sorry we... More

My family and I have dinned in so many Italian restaurants around the world and go on vacation to Italy every summer, so I consider myself well in to the Italian cuisine. This dining experience was not the best at all. The restaurant is very small, so make sure to reserve a table, and the surroundings are very uninspiring, but... More

If you are going for the food it's a bullseye, if you are going for the atmosphere it is a not such a good choice. The food is genuine italian and so are the waiters, the tables are crammed next to each other. Oh one other thing, the non smoking ban is only valid up to 9 p.m

After several nights of typical Austrian cuisine, my husband and I were ready for something else. So the one night that we didn't have reservations elsewhere we wandered through the Christmas markets in Spittelberg, and then sought out this restaurant close-by. Although we had not made a reservation, they were able to fit us in on what appeared to be... More

This was our third time at this restaurant, but our first time in the winter, so we sat inside instead of in the courtyard. The food was as good as ever. The pasta is home-made and the sauces are just divine. For dessert we had all had the same mango ice cream concoction which was absolutely beautiful. The restaurant is... More

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
