We visited this restaurant as we were informed that it served gluten-free pizza’s, and true to our apartment owners recommendation the whole pizza menu could be accommodated to be gluten-free (for a small charge). The restaurant was cosy, the staff friendly and the food excellent....Well worth a visit if you require gluten-free food and like pizza.More

We've had some tasty pasta and richly topped pizza. I appreciate free tap water. I also liked communicative and helpful waiters ready to advise us about the food.

Just had the most excellent and genuine Italian meal out for a long time. This restaurant is an absolute gem. It is a great example of a genuine Trattoria delivering good, simple, honest Italian food and pizza. The food is simple but beautifully cooked and...full of flavour. My wife had the fish menu of the day with beautiful Tuna carpaccio to start, followed by perfectly cooked Fillets of Sea Bass. I had an excellent Buffalo mozarella and tomato starter followed by a stylistically bolognese. The bolognese was full of flavour and clearly all home made. Pasta cooked to perfection and a plentiful quantity. We both had excellent profiteers with ice cream and heavenly chocolate sauce. Our accompanying house wines were extremely drinkable. Service was friendly and helpful without being intrusive or lacking. The whole meal was great value at just over 56 Euros. This place is a great example of a proper Italian Trattoria. It does not pretend to be anything it is not, with simple tables, basic cutlery, lovely Italian scenery pictures on the walls and genuine hospitality. It is worth noting that it is frequented by Italians. Would I done here again? Definitely. .More

I am a New Yorker and the grandson of Italian immigrants, so I have typically strong opinions about pizza. I am also (regrettably) sensitive to gluten. Finding good gluten-free pizza is always a struggle, particularly when I am traveling and have a hankering only pizza...can cure. It was therefore a wonderful occurrence that I came upon this establishment mere steps from where I was staying. These folks will make any of their many pizzas gluten-free for you, and reader, let me know tell you, they make some of the best gluten-free pizza I have ever had. If you suffer from the same affliction I do, you know the key to good GF pizza is the crust, and Da Giovanni clearly uses high-quality Italian flour (I've come across it only a few times) along with Vienna's famously delicious water. The end result is a crust that seems almost too good to be gluten-free. The sauce, cheese, and toppings were also excellent and met my very high New Yorker standards. Top marks for the pizza. My spouse ordered the branzino, and that was very enjoyable as well. The service was good, the decor is fun, and the overall experience is more than worthy of 5 stars. I can't recommend this place more highly if you're in Vienna and just absolutely need to have some gluten-free pizza.More

Chosen due to its good reviews and proximity to our hotel. This cosy traditional restaurant did not disappoint. We were greeted enthusiastically by the host who checked our vaccination status discretely, and were shown to our table. The restaurant was busy, with a friendly buzz...to it. We launched straight into the pizzas, which were excellent, freshly prepared with quality toppings. These were accompanied by a recommended bottle of red wine which complimented our pizzas perfectly. Coffee and Limoncello rounded off our evening. We were really pleased with our experience and would not hesitate to recommend this little gemMore

Fantastic little family Italian just out of the centre of Vienna. The food was just excellent, and really reasonable cost. We had the Crostini to start, which were delicious. My wife then had home made cream truffle tortellini, which she said was to die for!...With a lovely fresh green salad. I had a spicy meat pizza, can’t recall the name, but that was really good. The restaurant even provided home made chilli, abs a garlic oil to sprinkle on top. Even though we were both full, we could not pass up the profiteroles on offer (which we shared) , delivered to us by the owners young daughter, who was delightful. Overall just a really friendly lovely experience and we are going back on Sunday!More

Pizzeria Osteria da Giovanni is the best restaurant I visited with my family in Vienna. At first, it has a big variety of pizzas, homemade and tasty pasta, great salads, and delicious desserts. Also, it follows the rules of hygiene. Moreover, the place is lovely,...clear, with free Wi-Fi. It's a very good restaurant, and if you visit Vienna you must go there!!!🍕🍝🥗🍮More

5/5. My boyfriend and I went there after searching for a place to have lunch near the museums quartier, and we had the most delicious ravioli with Gorgonzola sauce. It was delicious and affordable for Austrian standards (2 main dishes and drinks = 30€). We...will definitely go back 😊More

Fantastic restaurant. We loved the mixed plate of antipasti, the very tasteful pizzas - even in gluten-free version - and the home made pasta with special sauce for our 6 year old. 💚🤍❤️
