The food on offer here was heavenly. It is a fish restaurant, with a Mediterranean (Croatian) touch. The wines on offer were superb (don't try the after dinner drink though....). The fish was prepared in the oven with at least 4 sorts of fish cooked to perfection with potatoes and vegetables. very nice pasta and cold (some pickled) fish as... More

We had noted that there was a new fish restaurant across the street from the flat we renting, the Kulinarium 7, so we looked it up. The owner, Toni Bjelancic, started his career in NY at the Culinary Institute and then moved to Philadelphia, He had been working throughout Scandinavia and has now settled in Vienna, not far from his... The other reviews do not do justice to this restaurant. The owner and his wife are from the Dalmatian coast (near Dubrovnik) and run this restaurant as (what seems like a hobby). The real cooks are a young and dynamic married couple who are PROS. I ate the 5-course menu of the day, which seemed to include 4 variations of... More

Reviews looked great however as of Oct 3 when I checked their website, it shows they are closed. Too bad, maybe it's just closed for renovations or a chef holiday? Next time I come to town I will try again.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed the set menu with the wine pairing. This was one of the best meals that I have ever had. Absolutely try while you are in Vienna.

This place is pretty pricey, but the food and service are outstanding. Our group had the multi-course meal with wine pairings. The food was really excellent, and the wine pairings chosen by someone with a great palate. Somewhat unusually for a restaurant at this level, the staff was really friendly and welcoming. The prices are steep, but for our recent... More

The title says it all. There were 6 of us dining and we had a wonderful meal with a very knowlegable young waiter who spoke very good English. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We were the last ones out, so the waiter presented all the ladies with a rose from the bouquet at the door.

A very stylish, modern restaurant just off the city centre that does things in style. The menu has few choices but the 3 or 5 course set menus (with optional wine flights) are a good bet and the excellent, friendly service included a full explanation of the wine selection. The starter of pork in aspic (an over simplification of what... More

This is a small restaurant so wise to make a reservation...we were lucky to get a table for 2 at 7ish on a Saturday night. Even though the restaurant was busy, the service was excellent. The food is special...the chefs are very creative; I thought the mains and dessert were perfect but the entrees a bit on the small/fussy side.... More

One of the best meals, ever! Look is modern and innovative – waitress was extremely attentive and knowledgeable – explaining local grapes and wineries. The menu is small but don’t be put off as they work with seasonal products. The beef carpaccio (with poached quail egg and a cayenne pepper lolly pop) was a breath of freshness and extremely tender.... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
