Well laid out tables and looked attractive so we went in. Totally ignored for awhile despite it being quiet. Finally got served but the mixed salad should have been listed as mixed green leaves as that is all it was. I had so much broken clam shell in my pasta dish I couldn't eat it. The service went from bad... More

The restaurant is hidden in between local streets of Vienna and as not advertised so much you will need to be recommended where to eat good Italian at a decent value. The staff are very friendly and informative for all the details in the menu. You may order from typical Italian menu or leave the daily details to the waiters.... More

This place is a gem. The atmosphere is great, along with the food and service. My favorite dish was the Steinpilz ravioli, which is probably one of the best ravioli's I've ever had. If I lived here I would come back again and again!

Tasty Italian dishes served in a cost atmosphere. Very popular so I would recommend making a reservation. Prices are reasonable and the service is good.

Overall great service, and great food wide a dedicated menu for dishes with black truffles. The highlight was "Piatto di dolce misto" - a plate with several desserts and fruits (lots of strawberries), all combined together in a great mix of tastes. Reccomended!

In need of some respite from trad Austrian fare, and deciding to ignore our concierge's advice on Italian restaurants in Vienna, we happened upon this superb Trat after some quite exhaustive research of our own.... What a find and far better than could have been expected, the Tagliatelle Verdi Tartufo Nero Fresco from a surprisingly extensive 'black' truffle menu was... More

This place is out of the touristic area but it is really nice. I recomend the home wine and lasagna al forno.

The best italian restaurant that I have gone in Vienna until this moment. They have good wines for a good price. I recommend you ask for the lasagna, it is really awesome. Yoy have to go until Josefstädter Strasse (Line U6 underground). Some meters and you will be there. Enjoy it.

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighborhood Profile
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theater, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighborhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicenter. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighborhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
