Meal of beef consommé, roast beef and Apple strudel was part of a visit, dinner and concert package deal. Food felt mass-produced. Service was efficient and perhaps other food orders might have been More pleasing.

Cafe Restaurant Residenz served some amazing apple strudel. The cafe had a lot of vegetarian options surprisingly. We had some pasta and sandwich too. The servers were very friendly and warm. I would recommend visiting.

Popped in after touring the Palace and before going around the gardens. Very nice cafe with good range of offerings. Bit pricey, but what you would expect at this sort of venue.

We had some time before our tour to the palace. We decided to have a quick bite. This cafe has lot of vegetarian options. We had Austrian pasta and apple strudel. Both the dishes were yumm!! Service provided was impeccable. Must visit for It's desserts.

Perfect spot to stop buy to sit down after the 40 room of the castle and the garden. Cakes are always wonderful in Vienna: today was Apple Strudel with "custard" that was great. On the lower ground floor there is this thing about to learn...More

During the day (before 16:30) this is a lovely café which is then transformed into an elegant dining room (after 18:00). The service and food were lovely. In the basement they hold an apple strudelshow on the hour each hour which lasts about 20mins. This...More

A lovely cafe / restaurant. Plenty of seating with lovely two seater settees to sit back in while you drink your coffee and eat the gorgeous cakes and pastries that are on offer. Uniformed waiter service give this place the edge.

Description
Residence of Imperial Pleasures The Habsburg family resided in their summer residence, Schönbrunn Palace from the mid 18th century onwards. In 1904 emperor Franz Josef declared the palace to his main residence. Following this great tradition, the Querfeld family named the Café they established in best Viennese tradition, "Café Residenz". Our guests at the Café Residenz are served with imperial delicacies such as our coffee speciality, Maria Theresa and even one of Franz Josef's favorite dishes, the Tafelspitz, a boiled filet of beef. You will also find the tradition recipe of Kaiserschmarrn, a schredded pancake made with raisins and sugar. The bakers to the crown, "Hofbackstube" are located in the stately vaults below the café, special apple strudel shows are held every hour. The facilities of the Café Restaurant Residenz are reserved for our non-smoking guests. If you wish to smoke you may do so on the terrace of our café.
