The food is not good. I would not recommend. The Frankfurter sausages are in fact Worldwide Breakfast sausages, bad presentation and bad taste, the waiting for a table is embarrassing while a lot of tables are empty, being "reserved". The service is slow and not...professional. The taste of the food is not good but the prices are up, designed maybe for a 4stars restaurant, but it's a joke, being in fact lower in quality than other average restaurants in the world.More

Very bad experience. Aggressive no vax waiter teasing the vaccination. The place was packed while half of the tables were kept empty apparently reserved but no one never came to sit there. Just avoid it!

While on our trip in Schonbrunn area, we stopped here for a light lunch and were pleases with their meals options and prices. Service was prompt and polite. I would recommend the place.

We had lunch here after spending the morning in the Palace grounds. There was plenty of seating and it was a nice day so luckily we could sit outside. The food was nice, I had a schnitzel sandwich and we followed it with the traditional...strudel and cream, which was delicious (although very filling!). Service was ok at first, but later it was a bit slower. Definitely could be worse though considering there's not loads of places to grab lunch nearby!More

We booked a Viator tour which included an audio guided tour of Schonbrunn Place which is a UNESCO listed treasure. The tour took a bit more than an hour. Then we strolled the lavish grounds and took pictures until it was time for dinner. If...you come a bit early, they have a nice outdoor bar with tables where you can wait. Inside, we had our 3 course meal with dessert. Drinks were extra but the food and service were great.More

We chose this restaurant for our dinner and were not aware that the 3 course dinner would be one set starter, main course and dessert - no choices unless you had opted in advance for a vegetarian option. Our menu was beef consommé, roast beef...and apple strudel. The drinks were incredibly expensive with a 75cl bottle of still water costing almost €8 and a bottle of red wine was €35!! We didn't find drinks that expensive anywhere else in Vienna during our 4 day stay. Inside the restaurant is very nice and the staff very quick to serve so we could get to the nearby Orangerie for the evening concert.More

I don't think the waiter like the English much very un helpful and dower to wards us, its the oldest café in Vienna but nothing special in side and pricey two teas and a bit of apple pie over 30 euros, give it a miss...and go in the Museum café far better service.More

Hello, Thomas, I think you rated the wrong place! The Cafe Residenz is located in the Schönbrunn Palace and is certainly not the oldest cafe in Vienna! Please check your entry! Thank you.

We lunch here with my family after a visit at the Zoo and Schonbrunn Palace and we enjoyed it! The location is excellent just outside the palace and makes it difficult to get seating on a busy day. However we did not have to wait...for a very long time for a free table. The food is a little pricier because of the location but we felt it was worth it. The service was great for a busy day. Unfortunately we did not visit the strudel show as we did not have enough time.More

Following a tour of the Schonbrunn Palace we decided to visit the cafe for a snack but did not go to the Strudel Show. It was quite full but the turnover of customers was quick and we only had a 5 minute wait for a...table. I ordered the Apple Strudel with Vanilla Sauce and oh my goodness it was delightful. The pastry was crisp with plenty filling and the sauce was the perfect consistency, all in all amazing. My wife ordered a Cherry Torte and said this was amazing also. The service was very professional and efficient, coupled with the ambience of the decor it was a perfect experience for afternoon tea. There are numerous sweet delicious treats to choose from which will suit everyone’s taste and I am sure you will enjoy the experience.More

We enjoyed the excellent Apfelstrudel after our tour at Schloss Schonbrun, with a nice coffee. The amount of toilets is just like the Schloss, too less, which causes long wiating time.
