We visited this restaurant several times and the quality of the food has always been the same: very good. Don't except "nouvelle cuisine", it's excellent Austrian "hausmanskost" they are serving . In summer it's nice siting outside, in winter inside adds still more to the atmosphere; the interior hasn't been changed very much over the years and gives the place... More

We were looking for somewhere open on a rainy Sunday evening and didn't want to stray too far from our hotel. This restaurant fit the bill- good food, nice comfy setting, friendly family staff. We had the impression it had been around a long time. We both had Wienerschnitzel (very tasty without the heavy breading you get sometimes), salads and... More

We stopped here for lunch after a long morning of sightseeing in Wien. This simple family owned and operated restaurant is simply lovely. The owner and his son were operating the restaurant during our late lunch, two plates of grilled sausages, and some colas. Another positive was that they brought us tap water in a pitcher rather than forcing us... More

We had lunch here in this enchanting restaurant on a Friday afternoon in Vienna. The restaurant is located in a small side street away from the main square a block or two from Stephensplatz and is steeped in history. On our arrival we were greeted with open arms by the owner and his wife who have continued this family business... More

Wanted to try the viennese schnitzel; the original, veal one. When the food arrived it turned out to be pork. On top of it, the owner charged us 6€ for a liter of TAP water!! He did not even had the decency to stay and explain us what was on the bill when we asked him. For sure we will... More

First detractor was that they don't have an English menu. It's right off the old downtown circle so that was a bits uprising. 2nd, they only accept cash. 3rd, the food was just okay. Seems they don't like to season their food. With all that said, the staff was very kind and very helpful recommending something off the menu. I... More

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
