We had a late dinner, schnitzel and griled meat with onions. The schnitzel was nothing special but the meat with fried onions was great. They serve a nice beer too. The service was rapid and the staff very friendly.

Let's put it this way, the dishes were served really nice, but... We ordered the mixed grill, it was so salty, almost inedible. The liver dumpling soup was nice and hot, so on a cold day, that was nice. However, when the check arrived, it was 17.5€ too high. It has 5 items that we didn't order. The owner seemed... More

Stumbled across this restaurant after a packed morning at the Hofburg. It was just what we were looking for at lunchtime - good, solid Austrian food in a relaxed and charming restaurant. A great way to unwind. I had the Wienerschnitzel which was delicious and my husband had the chicken with curry sauce which he said was the best. Friendly,... More

We visited this restaurant several times and the quality of the food has always been the same: very good. Don't except "nouvelle cuisine", it's excellent Austrian "hausmanskost" they are serving . In summer it's nice siting outside, in winter inside adds still more to the atmosphere; the interior hasn't been changed very much over the years and gives the place... More

We were looking for somewhere open on a rainy Sunday evening and didn't want to stray too far from our hotel. This restaurant fit the bill- good food, nice comfy setting, friendly family staff. We had the impression it had been around a long time. We both had Wienerschnitzel (very tasty without the heavy breading you get sometimes), salads and... More

We stopped here for lunch after a long morning of sightseeing in Wien. This simple family owned and operated restaurant is simply lovely. The owner and his son were operating the restaurant during our late lunch, two plates of grilled sausages, and some colas. Another positive was that they brought us tap water in a pitcher rather than forcing us... More

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
