If you're looking for a nice place to eat with friendly staff and typical Austrian food this is the place to go. Careful, it is permitted to smoke in this restaurant.

We visited this large bier keller type establishment for a couple of biers and chose downstairs as that was the no smoking area. The bier was of good quality and was reasonably priced and the service was efficient and pleasant. Centimeter is well worth a visit.

If you are hungry and look for some basic typical Austrian food, this might be a good place. Friendly service, decent food, for a very reasonable price.

They brought the wrong food and said we'd have to wait another 30mins if we wanted the right one (others already had food). They acted like it's not their problem. Also the food was plain and dry.

Fantastic venue to eat and drink. There were a vast amount of beers and spirits to choose from in a friendly environment. The food was of an excellent quality and extremely large portions. Advise sharing most of the meals on the menu.

I have visited this place before, and since then recommend about this place to my friends who visit Vienna. This time, I have visited this place with a friend to eat and enjoy again the Schnitzel. I took the one from chicken, with a very good potato salad on the side. It was delicious, although I think it was a... More

The ribs was very good, well done and a lot of them. I ate a M portion (smallest portion) and was enaugh for me. The goulash is austrian and is not the same as the hungarian. :)

Went there as it has good reviews. The craft beer is good. Food is not expensive but the schnitzel was not tender at all. Not much cheaper than other locals I've been with better food.

While staying in Vienna, our great little hotel (Hotel Alpha Wien) recommended a pub just around the corner in Lenaugasse 11. Its called Centimeter and is one of a chain of 3 or 4 around Vienna. This one is in the charming district of Josefstadt and both the hotel and Centimeter are adjacent to the U2 subway stop - Rathaus.... More

For our non-smoking party of 6, the reserved table was in the the windowless basement, to which the staircase and the fire-proof door looked kind of uninviting. The large room, empty at 7pm, was packed one hour later: mainly teenager, obviously classes on a school trip. The basement tap provided only the house beer (tasty enough), all other brews and... Staying in Josefstadt

Neighborhood Profile
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theater, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighborhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicenter. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighborhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
