Small restaurant seating max of 30 one block from Spanish riding school. Inviting atmosphere, excellent service and phenomenal food. Goulash soup, pork roast, schnitzel, and other local dishes. Nice!!!!!

Our first meal in Vienna and it didn't disappoint. Had excellent service from the waiter, who even taught us some local phrases to use. Food and wine both very good.

This restaurant is amazing. The food is well cooked and delicious and the staff is friendly and attentive. I was traveling with friends and the hotel recommended this restaurant if we wanted good local food without the tourist crowds. We ended up going back a second time because we loved it so much. I highly recommend this restaurant. Our waiter... More

Being in Vienna we wanted to sample some traditional Viennese food. We stumbled across this place on our first night & thought we'd give it a go (looked inviting & quiet). We were well looked after & instantly felt comfortable. Both my sister & I tried the schnitzel. Beautifully cooked & warming. One criticism - no room for pudding! Pleased... More

My son & I were drawn to this restaurant by the ambiance oozing through the window on a cold evening. The welcome was bordering on polite but easily overlooked when seated and eating a most delicious schnitzel and drinking an amazing apple & mint lemonade. The thing that detracted from the experience was one male waiter was using paper to... More

I do not like criticising places that are trying hard to please, so I hope that what I am about to say is taken in that vein. The service was friendly and the room and exterior seating pleasant. I feel the waiters need some more training as one of our party had his main course put on the table before... More

An excellent meal. Waiter recommended various choices to share and wines to pair. Romantic setting for background music. Short walk to Opera House but don't eat there if you are in a hurry. Specialties are Austrian dishes and wines.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
