Wherever we go we always try and go for some local food and after seeing some good reviews (and weighing up a couple of not so good ones) we booked a table. Schnitzel and bratwurst were the order of the day followed by Sacher torte all round. Empty plates followed. Excellent meal. Service attentive without being fussy and done with... More

We dashed in here out of the rain. Very smart place, with good service and food. The décor is traditional and the lighting subdued. Thankfully the menus came with reading lights! My wife ordered the schnitzel and I had pork & bread dumplings. There was a cover charge of 3 euros which covered bread & olive oil, the food arrived... More

Small and intimate dining room, lighted menus, quick service, fresh and extensive beverage selection. I'm a vegetarian and highly recommend the Veggie Wok; the chili flavor was the perfect amount of spice. My husband enjoyed the Weiner Schnitzel.

We ate here last night on our way to a concert. The waiter was courteous and helpful. The food was fresh and delicious, and came promptly to the table. Plus, we were given table water which seems to be a rarity in Vienna. We enjoyed this meal immensely.

We ate here twice during our stay in Vienna. The first time because of the reviews and also because it was close to our hotel. We returned because of the quality of our first meal. We both chose traditional Viennese food on both occasions and greatly enjoyed it.

Disapointed after choosing to eat here. I ordered the Ceasar salad. It came limp and drowned in a vinegary dressing. Absolutely no crispness left in the lettuce at all and most of it was stalk. It looked as if it was too old to be served as a salad so drowning it in dressing would cover that up. My husband... More

We ate here as it was close to our hotel but it turned out to be the best meal we had in Vienna. We had the risotto which was fantastic. Good friendly service, nice street table and reasonable prices.

We stumbled across this restaurant when looking for somewhere to refuel after a hard day pounding the pavement of Vienna. Food, service and staff all really good. We had goulash veal schnitzel and chicken cordon blue, all three were tasty and nicely cooked. Recommended.

My mom and I ate dinner here the last night of our stay in Vienna. The food is interesting and inventive. I had the steak tartare, which was a creative mix of butter, steak tartare, red onions, and capers. Delicious. The location is great. We ate outside and people watched.

Warm welcome by the owner and excellent food & service in this perfectly located restaurant. Not cheap (Vienna is expensive) but worth the price.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
