I visited this restaurant with my family whilst on a weekend away. The menu is small and traditional. In the evening they serve a 'evening cover' starter for €3 per head, this consisted of cake like focaccia bread, raw root vegetables and fatty pork, not particularly appetising. Our mains on the other hand were delicious! We all decided to try... More

Bumped into this restaurant and as we were rather hungry, did not bother to check its reviews on TP. We started with a cold bacon traditional Austrian starter on the house that set the tune of what was to follow. We then had goulash soup and a tomato soup. Both were excellent. We followed by eating schnitzel which too was... More

Last time I was here was with a friend in March 2012. It was cold, wet and windy then. This time I was alone and it was cold and wet too. Fortunately, my hotel was literally across the road from Fuhrich. The service and food, however, was warm and convivial. I told the owner (if the friendly blonde lady who... More

Really nice place! Not huge, cozy and stimulating relaxing talks) Tasty meals are served very elegant and modern at the same time. Beware of sitting close to the door and windows, when it's cold outside. It's not very warm. This is the place where i want to come back next time!

Our party of four stopped here for lunch after spending all morning walking around the plaza. We were seated upon arrival at a table just right next to the door. the place is small but cozy. The owner, (based on the photos I saw) was very attentive and (even though she was eating at a table with friends) came and... More

My boyfriend and I were in a rush to find a place to eat, but wanted to have a nice dinner as we were dressed for the opera. We stumbled upon this gem and were so happy we found it. We were walking downtown in the shopping area and were worried that everything was going to be "chain-y". When we... More

We chose this restaurant having researched it beforehand for our first meal in Vienna, as it was a short walk from our hotel the Ambassador in central Vienna. When we entered it was quiet late but we managed to get a table by the window. The waiter was very attentive and we were given menus with a built in battery... More

I highly recommend this restaurant whether you are gluten free or not! The service was excellent, I had the beef tartar starter which came with a beautiful gluten free brown bread. Veal Wiener schnitzel made without the breading was amazing! Buttery and delicious as were the side of potatoes. My husband had the gluten free bratwurst just so I could... More

Small, cosy, busy restaurant just off the Kärtner Strasse that offers a good choice of regional dishes. Both the beef broth & carrot + ginger soups were good, and as lunchtime options, we chose the tomato risotto & chicken Caesar salads, which were fine also. We gazed admiringly as the enormous schnitzel main courses arrived for other guests, which looked... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
