The 3 Hacken Magazin is actually an annex to the very traditional 3 Hacken restaurant some 100 meters away. The restaurant has a concept of it's own, a bit more modern but still very Viennaise and Austrian. Especially in terms of service, which is simply excellent. We actually ended up here, since it was the only place around to buy... More

My girlfriend and I stopped by for a quick dinner. We had the schnitzel and a steak which were both tasty and delivered quickly. With a drink each and tip the bill came to 50 euro. Our waiter spoke good English, was very helpful and attentive. Granted we didn't have high expectations but we were very happy with our choice... More

We had a late dinner in this restaurant, the food was good, schnitzel a little bit salty but good after all and same calf liver with some sauce very good. Acceptable red local wine for 23 euro a bottle. Very good service, the restaurant was full, especially with locals. I recommend this restaurant.

I arrived at my hotel (Singerstrasse 21/25, just around the corner) late on a Sunday evening when not much is open in Vienna. I asked the desk clerk for a recommendation, and he immediately recommended 3 Hacken Magazin. It turned out to be a great recommendation. I was greeted warmly and seated immediately despite my lack of German. The food... More

Me and my guy visited the restaurant at 8 pm a Saturday and had no problem getting a table. I ordered a schnitzel and my guy ordered tafelspitz. We were both really happy with the food. The schnitzel was crispy and the potato salad was really good. Would have liked some sauce for it though. The portion size was to... More

Nice environment, service! Not salty or oily. Good for all and Asian's taste. Boil beef is fantastic! Worth for price. 適合亜洲人口味,少塩少油,清湯牛臀肉肉質口感不錯,值得一試!服務質素和環境也很好,侍應態度友善欣勤,願意為客人微調配菜,我將薯蓉改成焗薯絲,很好吃!

I've been to this restaurant by lucky coincidence. While walking around St Stephen Cathedral one of the locals advised this place. Restaurant location is a kind of hidden one - Riemergasse street (one of the back streets of Ringstrasse). Meals: Food was tasty. It was well prepared and served. Even though I've enjoyed every single bite of my calf wienerschnitzel... More

We came here for lunch as it looked good as walked past it earlier in the day. It's on a side street but well worth seeking out as the food is very good. I had a fabulous calf Weinerschnitzel with potato salad and my husband had the 'three ham' plate. I ordered the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert and had trouble finishing... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch here. Careful: there are apparently two locations -- the one on Singerstraße known as the Gasthaus Zu den 3 Hacken, and the Wineshop/Restaurant on Riemengasse, which is where we went. By downtown Vienna standards, this is very spacious and laid back. The wine selection is amazing, and perhaps unique for Vienna. Cuisine is traditional Viennese.... More

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
