I am not really a huge fish eater. I always have to be in the mood for it. We went for the platter which I expected to be slightly wary of and thought I would only eat a bit of it. But not only did it look fantastic when it came out, it was probably the best fish I have... More

This is probably the first attractive seafood restaurant you come to entering the market. Tables are small and cramped and we were given a table almost next to the till and our food was almost knocked over by the waiter. We had the seafood plate for two and it was good but we waited over 40 minutes for it which... More

This is really a good weather restaurant. When the sun is shining it is simply a perfect place to while away an afternoon. We enjoyed Umar's special seafood platter, octopus salad and a plate of vongole. Everything was tasty. The service was efficient and prompt. The seating is slightly cramped, but that's true for all the restaurants there.

Vienna is a city of great Roman, Holy Roman, and more recent imperial historic importance. Today it is the center of diplomacy, international business (OPEC HQ), and many pharmaceutical companies. I have been to Vienna at least once per year over the past twenty years. As an imperial and interior city, the gastronomic emphasis has been on pork (schnitzel) and... More

What a fantastic place to eat - we followed the lonely planet guide to the naschmarkt and had a great time mooch about the various stalls. We came across this restaurant and were really pleased that we did. Excellent and friendly service, but not intrucive, which allowed us to talk in comfort and watch the world go by in this... More

I found this place from a recommendation in the hotel room guide. The seafood choice was superb and the place was lively and buzzing without being too overcrowded. The staff managed to find me a table inside as I didn't want to be with the smokers (outside). I had a lobster starter which was a half lobster tail - a... More

Very fresh seafood and not expensive at all! I tried the Provence style fish soup, light but with lots of flavor. The grilled king prawns and fish were very tasty. Try some Austrian wine if possible to pair with the food.

We discovered this restaurant on our first day in Vienna when we found what we thought was a market but this was a market with a difference; lots of restaurants cooking a variety of international cuisine. Our first visit was one warm evening when it was packed.we eventually found a table for two in a good space. We shared prawns... More

We ordered the seafood platter for 2. It was ok, but personally I don't think it was very fresh, only the seabream was. And I'd prefer my fish to have all bones removed, especially for salmon. For the first time I've seen bones in a salmon steak so I don't know if it's common, but it was more difficult to... More

Staying in Wieden

Neighborhood Profile
The fourth district combines elegant tradition with contemporary style and relaxed living. More than a dozen town palaces and churches such as St. Charles Borromeo have added glamour to a neighborhood known for its traditional retail and crafts shops, taverns, cafés. Wieden is also home to Naschmarkt, Vienna’s largest street market.
