Pfarrwirt is a restaurant located in the Heuriger zone in the surroundings of Viena, a very beautiful zone. I went this zone sometimes in the past, because I like very much to taste different wines of Austria. In this travel, I came from Bosnia&Herzegovina the last day of the travel, because my flight stop in Viena and the next day... More

We had two interesting fish and meat dishes- limited choices on a Sunday dinner menu, but definitely enough tasty dishes to choose from. The service started off slow, but we were not in a rush. The waiter was attentive and helped me select a nice, Austrian wine, which I knew nothing about.

Nice local food for affordable prices, for sure not a Michelin star restaurant but just down to earth food in a good quality. The waiter was first a bit unfriendly but that changed after a while, so all good. To be recommended.

I was in Heiligenstadt and wanted lunch when I saw this restarant. I had one of the daily specials, which was belly of young pork. I really enjoyed it. I like the spaciousness of the restaurant, the friendly and efficient service as well as the quality of both food and drink. I would like to go again, perhaps for dinner,... More

This is an outstanding restaurant and one of the Mayerhof locales. You are greeted by someone who will open the door for you as you come in, then walk through a bar area and enter the restaurant. It has such a nice modern, yet traditional feel about it and is very welcoming. There is also private parking, which is a... More

I happened across this restaurant during one of my walks through Vienna's outskirts. Although I was not planning on having lunch there, the place looked so attractive, authentic and welcoming that I could not resist going in. Had some relatively modest, traditional dishes, enjoyed every bite! Very nice setting, tastefully decorated. Was surprised to discover an artwork by Daniel Spoerri!... More

We went to the restaurant in Sunday for lunch. The restaurant was packed. They did not find our reservation, but managed to squeeze us in. The food was great - we had goose ( it is a seasonal dish) and the two restaurant's classical dishes. The food was great, but it seemed a bit expensive. All in all it was... More

We were on our honeymoon and had a reservation. When we arrived, they ignored us for about 10 minutes...they weren't that busy. In fact, they never really addressed us and simply demanded that we follow them. They finally seated us sandwiched in between two big, loud groups even though there were many other quieter open tables. Took them 15 min... More

We were a big group of 15 people with prediscussed menu. My "wiener Ganserl" was very tasty, same for the Knödel and the fantastic chocolate cake afterwards. Portion was ok, could have been a little bit bigger. While not everything worked out perfectly (eg speed), we had a great time and would like to come back another time- then "testing"... More

Classic dining in the oldest operational restaurant in Vienna. The owner invested in this and there is a vineyard in the back. They serve their own wines and fantastic food, classic and a bit pricey but worth every penny. A must go to

Description
A Tafelspitz is a Tafelspitz and a Wiener Schnitzel a Wiener Schnitzel. It sounds simple but it is one of the great secrets of the Viennese cuisine: simple, pure, authentic food which tastes just as it should. One more secret: the Viennese cuisine - by the way, the only one named after a city - has always been multi-faceted and open to influences from other countries and regions. Recipes from the Crown Lands Bohemia and Hungary have become adopted into the Austrian cuisine, even as eggplant (Melanzani), sponge fingers (Biskotte) or bouillon, ingredients and dishes derived from the Italian and French cuisine. Adhering to original recipes while accepting new trends - that is, uniting tradition with cosmopolitanism - are the two secrets of the Viennese cuisine, to which the Pfarrwirt feels committed. It is a matter of course that all dishes are prepared with fresh and natural ingredients and that the Pfarrwirt renounces the use of meat from factory farming. Not absolutely necessary, but it nevertheless feels good.

Staying in Dobling

Neighborhood Profile
Dobling
Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are Neustift am Walde with even more great wine taverns, and café restaurant Cobenzl, up on Cobenzl hill – fantastic for great vistas of Vienna. The woodland around Kahlenberg has a wonderful and not too strenuous hiking path - just don't forget the insect repellent. If you have adventurous children, take them to Waldseilpark Kahlenberg (forest rope park Kahlenberg). A must-do if you want a taste of the Vienna Woods is a stop at Josefinenhütte next door with its great food, cosy interiors and wonderful outdoor space.
