Location is great: Quiet place out of the touristic area. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing - there was more tea on the saucer than in the cup when the waiter arrived. Reasonable prices.

Just don't miss it. Authentic Viennese atmosphere, cool service, friendly staff and great blaufrnakisch (red wine, first time I tasted it). A perfect tiny haven in the heart of this glorious city.

So cute! Very friendly staff. And very friendly prices. Smoking inside allowed, so if you don't like that, don't go there. But it's so small, it'll be busy anyway.

Visited this teeny weeny little bar in February. I first spotted it in December when I was in Vienna but it was full. I am so glad I got in this time. Full of locals and a very easy vibe. Plus you can smoke in there if smoking is your thing. It's been part of the Viennese cafe/bar scene for... More

I love love love this cafe. Every time I come to Vienna, this place is my Mecca. Although it gets v busy during the night and late afternoons but it is worth the visit. The waiters are very welcoming. Locals are so humble and they would always talk to you. Listen to great music, absorb the ambience. This is one... More

Casual, Local, Smoky, Chatty Space. Super low-key. A great place to just hang, indoors or out. It's great to have a place to grab a casual bite, a beer or a coffee without being rushed or overrun by tourists. If you're in the nabe, do stop-in

We were sorely disappointed with the service we received here. It took about 15 minutes before they would take our order and about 40 to deliver the 10 sausages we had collectively ordered. It did appear that other tables around us seemed to receive very friendly service from the same staff but this only increased our disappointment. The food was... More

A little cafe in Franziskanerplatz with its own significant signature! Good strong coffee, wood material everywhere ideal for smokers! An alternative place different from the traditional style in most coffee stores in Vienna!

Being a fan of the film before Sunset, this was a must visit for me when I visited Vienna- despite struggling to find the place a tiny bit (more my fault I think) it was worth the wait- the cafe was in its own little square that seemed as timeless as the film suggested. I can't comment on the outside... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
