yesterday I had a great dinner with friends, one of them is Japanese, and this place was his suggestion. The sushi were excellent, just like the ones I tried in Japan a few months ago. Some were smoked, some roasted. Little appetizers were served in pretty bowls and we all got beautiful china plates made in Japan. A wonderful place... More

I had dinner there with a Japanese friend and was not disappointed. A sushi bar a I imagine them in Tokyo, with customers sitting at the bar and talking to the cook displaying his dexterity and explaining to you what he is doing. A very enjoyable evening.

Very nice Japanese restaurant within the elegant Hotel de France in Schottentor, in Vienna, has a sushi bar but you must have reserved to seat there, but on the upper floor there is a very nice room, quite cosy and charming, where a very gentile Taipei lady served us the best sushi and maki. Highly recommended. Not at all expensive.... More

Chose this place for lunch based on great reviews. Fabulous, fresh sushi for a gret price. Managed to get a seat at the bar, and watch the chef work his magic. Shortly after I arrived, they were turning people away. Appears many folks were regulars, as the waittress knew their orders. Highly recommend!

The Chef is from Taiwan and had learned his skills in Japan. This is a old and very good Japanese restaurant. People are nice and food is very fresh. It's not easy to have such fresh sushi around Wien. The environment mede me feel like home. Recommand to everyone who love real Japanese food.

I came here last week with 4 friends. I love sushi and was looking forward to this experience. I was very disappointed. First of all, by Vienna standards, very expensive. But that's the "price you pay" for high quality fish and a wonderful ambience, so I was prepared for that. Sadly, I was disappointed here too. The fish in my... More

Almost an insider tip as this place is small and tucked away, but definitely a great discovery. Great value delicicious sushi - large sushi set for 11 EUR (at lunch). Sushi as it should be, i.e. large piece of fish and just little bit of rice. The lunch menu consists almost entirely of sushi and fish don (sashimi on bowl... More

Staying in Serviten Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
Serviten Quarter
The Serviten Quarter is an inner city neighborhood with many private charms. Popular with French and American expats, Sigmund Freud’s neighborhood boasts his former practice and apartments, now turned into a museum. Stunning Liechtenstein Garden Palace houses the private art collection of Prince Adam of Liechtenstein. Romantic Strudlhofstiege close to the palace is a fantastic photo spot. With their small independent shops and eateries, the main streets of Liechtensteinstrasse, Porzellangasse and Servitengasse reveal much of this area’s character. Peek into baroque Serviten Church, with its richly decorated dome and walls. At the Old Jewish cemetery in Seegasse you can see one of the most precious cemeteries in Europe with tombstones almost 500 years old.
