This restaurant is definitely one of our great finds while walking around Stephenplatz surrounding area. I can't say for sure if it is genuine Austrian cooking only because I am not a local but it was truly delicious. We were walk-ins but the front guy managed to accommodate us a cozy table for two. The place filled up rather quickly... More

Hidden up a back street between the Canal and the Student Quarter, this small restaurant is not easy to find but well worth the effort. We only found it on a recommendation from the concierge at our hotel. When you enter you will feel a nice traditional atmosphere – this restaurant appears to be a favourite with locals and the... Delucious food in small and basic surroundings. Felt very "typical" Staff efficient but not overly friendly, perfect combination! Goulash with dumplings was incredible. Desserts were also very tasty. Would definitely recommend if you are in vienna. Rwasonably priced too.

My friend and I ate here twice during a recent stay liking the relaxed and local atmosphere as well as the food. Prices slightly lower than other nearby restaurants so its a good option if you are on a budget. Service was prompt and polite.

We found this restaurant on the strength of a guidebook's recommendation, Eyewitness Travel. When we showed up, the person we took to be either the owner or manager told us in a gruff voice to go inside and wait. The restaurant had about 20 or 30 tables outside. We were sat at a table in a short time; and asked... More

Visited twice during our stay in Vienna. Staff don't speak much English, but then we were in Austria and this is frequented mainly by locals and is just outside the old University quarter. We speak German so wasn't a great problem and they, the staff, appreciated it anyway ! Had the Schnitzel on our first visit which was very good,... More

A cosy little place with typical Austrian dishes on the menu. Some good draft beers, fast and friendly service.

We booked here over the internet. It was lucky we had booked because the outside eating area was deservedly almost full. We were well looked after, by waiters who spoke enough English (and we a little German), to be able to communicate effectively. We had three courses and wine, which came to around €100.00. The food was superb - we... More
