I read a review from 2013 that suggested that this small and traditional eatery was worth a visit for the gluten free traveller. 2 years on I could not agree more. Although not listed on the menu the waiter was very knowledgeable about ceoliac dietary requirements. I had the gluten free Wiener schnitzel and it could not have been more... More

Perfect slices of breaded veal. Look no more for the iconic viennese cuisine dish. The meat is tender and comes with perfect parsley potatoes. The service was fantastic even though the outside tables are 3 meters away from the restautant. Highly recommended.

Portions are really good. I had Wiener Schnitzel....2 large steaks with parsley potatoes. Good. The wife had the potato pancakes and enjoyed. We tried the poppy seed cake: unusual taste but fine ( although I would like it to be sweeter...) No tap water here.... they claim their water tubes are too old. Staff is almost friendly, their English is... More

I researched ahead of our trip to find a restaurant that served gluten free Wienerschnitzel and this restaurant was at the top. Of course, it will never be quite as good as the real thing, but it was pretty good. My husband enjoyed the regular Wienerschnitzel. Portions were generous, service was good, even though it was a busy night. The... More

Asked the Receptionist at our hotel if she could recommend some good local restaurants that doe good traditional Austrian food, and she said Beim Czaak. A very good choice. Quaint and traditional, and not 'touristy' at all. Friendly staff who make you feel welcome. The choice of food is very good, and very traditional Austria. The boiled beef was great... More

We were a company of 10 and went to Czaak without a reservation. The personnel was helpful to accommodate us, and while having the wait for the entire company to arrive they suggested very tasty appetizers (the beef tarter is so tasty) while we were waiting. It has typical Viennese cuisine so nothing fancy. But, all in all you are... More

We stayed in the Hotel Karntnerhof, which I am also reviewing, and when we asked the concierge about good restaurants close by, he said "Go to 'Chuck's' ", it's right around the corner. Well, we went around a small irregular shaped Viennese block with about 8 sides and cul de sac's, and then saw a restaurant sign that said "Czaak".... More
