Interesting but not impressive deconstructed hot chocolate with the missing cream top (contrary to the menu). The venue was busy in the early afternoon so were the waiters resulting in minor delays in serving. A bit overpriced (13 EUR for two hot chocolates)

A lovely local cafe which we used for a quick breakfast having been recommended to us by a local guide. It opens at 9.30am
The coffee comes from an original American expresso machine, my Hauschocolate was very, very nice and the croissants far better than those at home.
Definitely worth a visit. The start speak English and the choice of local cakes was excellent. Note that payment is in cash (euros).
Recommended.

Always great atmosphere here where warm, traditional interior complements traditionally colder service. Lovely cakes and vast choice of flavoured coffees. Savoury food menu a big plus. Will definitely be back on the next visit.

English speakers take heed the staff have no time for non German speaking people, therefore Pick a nice table to sit and people watch, as you will be waiting a long time to be served and pay because the waiting staff will actively ignore your table, while tables around you fill and empty. the cakes are good but for a big tourist attraction the staff have no time for vistors , which is a big pity.
For first timers
1. Get a table .
2 go to cake counter and pick a cake and get a ticket for it .
3 return to table order drink and other food from waiting staff they will bring the cake and drinks to your table.
4 pay for everything at table when leaving.

Echoing other comments, if you are english speaker or in general non-german speaking tourist stay away from that place. Never before elsewhere in Austria we experienced such rudeness from staff. Almost knocked by a waitress running behind and literally pushed out of the way, that was a great start, really should have left after that. Then tried to ask twice if they could clean the table from previous people and being ignored. After 15 mins of further being ignored we noticed everyone had some pieces of paper with a number. Thought ok we might have to order ourselves. Off I went to the front where all cakes are on display, trying to avoid running waitress who stopped for nothing and noone and asked in English if I order here … just to be ignored again as the lady was too busy having a social chat with some 2 other women.
Also they only accept cash. Which is ok but bit ridiculous for such a big place and also in covid times hardly anyone handle cash anymore.
Anyone after about 25-30 mins of overall being either ignored or receiving rude ‘barks’ from the staff we decided to leave and find somewhere else

This historic bakery in the old town of Innsbruck is located on a not very wide street but inside the place is very spacious with many tables. The decor is totally anonymous and tasteless. You enter and immediately on the left there is the cake counter, rich but not very rich. I probably got my choice wrong, because I ordered a slice of sponge cake with berries on top held together by a jelly. Overall with an indefinite flavor, not very sweet. Those who accompanied me ordered a chocolate, but a glass of hot milk arrived with a chocolate ball difficult to melt in it. I assign two dots because I ordered for myself a coffee (which was no big deal) with cream: the really delicious cream. The desserts are not very sweet but the bill is hefty.

Deplorable reception. After 15 minutes of waiting in a messy room, the waiter, who had not taken the order, invited us to leave if he was not happy. He's completely outdated and not nice. The bonus is to clear the table of previous ones. Cash payment in addition. Really complicated organization. Prices not all displayed, no menu for the cakes... Too bad because it's good... We're in the 20th century here...

This place was possibly the least welcoming cafe I've ever been to! On arrival a waiter barged past me with a tray of drinks...lucky for me I mainly dodged out of the way although he did push past me without a care in the world. It wasn't busy but there was distinctly frosty customer service. We were told we couldn't sit near the window as the table we had chosen was for 6 people. We were a group of 4 large adults and the place was half empty after the lunchtime peak. Other single people were occupying tables of 4 so it seemed a little strange. We smiled and were respectful but the waiter was sneery and rude. Plastic tables and harsh lighting. Go somewhere else!! There are loads of lovely authentic, welcoming cafes in Innsbruck.

Located in the center of Innsbruck, we stopped in this place for a short break. The atmosphere is typically Tyrolean, the desserts are good and ultimately I recommend the place to everyone.
The only flaw is that they don't accept credit cards, only cash.

We wanted to consume coffee and cake on a company outing, 10 people. There were 4 tables available , but we were forbidden to sit there, as lt waitress will sit there the staff !?! and this was extremely unkindly communicated. Besides, nothing is advertised and inflated prices! Not recommended place, certainly gives friendly coffees that are happy about 10 guests!!

Frankly I didn’t know about the fact that in Austria bar and restaurants are not obliged to accept electronic payments (in Italy works like that - and I think it’s good in 2024); anyway I guess that also in Austria should be correct to inform before to order that the commercial premise do not accept the e-payment. And I think the waiter should not react annoyed and rude if the Customer is pointing out that. I do not comment the food (average). Unfortunately the service is very bad. I’ll never be their for choice.

I spent my week in Innsbruck looking for the kind of cafe I would have visited 35 years ago. Cafe Munding didn’t disappoint. Delicious cakes, attentive staff, quiet street slightly away from the busiest areas.

Well, I don't know how many types of coffee. Place 2 be for drinking a cup of coffee. Too bad. Unless you want to pay €8 for your cup of coffee. We do not. So I just ordered capuccino and Katte Maciato. Disappointingly poor quality. Not the place for us 2 B.

My wife and I had a coffee and applestruddle, it was amazing. Probably the best applestruddle I have ever had. The staff were attentive even though it's an extremely busy cafe.
The cafe itself is beautiful decorated as if still from the 40s.

Lunch was OK with a fairly limited menu. The main reason to come to this cafe is the coffee and desserts. The desserts are wonderful and we highly recommend this cafe.
